Sounds like shin splints... I get them too... I usually work through it but stretching them out helps. When I got them in high school the doc told me to use a heavy duty elastic ( I used a fitness band) put part of it under a chair leg or something similar and pull back with your feet to strengthen them. Sorry, it's hard…

You might want to find some positive friends! You don't need to hear that you are getting big from anybody! We are our own worst critics... mirgss is absolutely right, we ALL have bad times! You just gotta push through it. I know it's hard but you just need to talk yourself into taking that walk or going to the gym or…

Love Zumba! Especially in a class setting! I started doing Zumba when I weighed about 210. It does get intense but you can pretty much go at your own pace. Most of the instructors will tell you to just keep moving! I highly recommend it! I also have the game for the Wii but prefer a class!

I wouldn't push yourself too hard at first because you will end up giving up. So if you feel like you're getting a good burn, then stick with what's comfortable... for now anyways!

Your story is very touching to me... My daughter is 11 and she could stand to lose probably about 20 lbs, so right now, she isn't to an extreme, but I worry everyday that she will follow down the same path that I had traveled and struggle with her weight her entire life. I'm trying to teach her healthy habits and explain…

I use the general rule of thumb that each average sized grape has about 4 calories.. It's something I read online but I'm not entirely sure how accurate it is.

Looking forward to this challenge! Goals for the week are drink at least 8 cups of water everyday, get on my elliptical at least 3 times this week, go to Zumba, and be proud of what I accomplish regardless of what the scale says! Good luck everybody!!!

Thank you all so much! I am proud of it but I honestly think I am thinking about the long road that still lies ahead, I'm a bit impatient... Thank you for the encouragement though! It really does help to read it! You are all awesome!
