  • This is no critique, but the message boards are divided into main forums and groups (the general overview which you can see when going to the Message Boards tab under the Community tab up on top). In each there are discussion topics or threads. When you refer to the cold weather resource as message boards, it can be either…
  • Thanks for linking. It is a 'thread', though, not a forum or message board, which might confuse others too.
  • By definition they have dieted in that case, not made a lifestyle change. The latter means replacing all the bad habits with good ones.
  • Agree with this too. Don't know why laziness had to be brought to the table in the first place, seems like a whole lot of stereotypical thinking. But apparently that is how some people need to view the world.
  • And to that I say "so what?" The sooner we stop caring so much about who is annoyed with us in any given moment, the sooner the problem will disappear. On these boards I so often see all these really aggressive and confrontational approaches to dealing with idiots, but personally I subscribe to just letting the crap fall…
  • Yes, and by 'burden' in case of person A, I'd say it more like 'hassle' or 'occasional nuisance' than 'emotionally taxing' or 'stressful'.
  • I don't mean this in a negative way, but if you have to be that strict still, it doesn't sound like you've made a lifestyle change with permanently changed habits.
  • If you do it for fun or for some particular purpose, who cares. If you find yourself stressing because you missed a day due to outside factors or such, it is unhealthy. Obsession by definition comes with an aspect of feeling helpess, out of control, etc.
  • Oh goodness the sidetracks again. Anyway, logging ideally is a tool, in which case one has a healthy relationship to said tool. If there is imbalance and the relationship becomes unhealthy, obsession can occur. Only you know how to define that relationship and if people around you express opinions, it isn't the first time…
  • The vashikaran spam crap is not abuse, it is spam. Please flag it as such.
  • Just keep going everyone. Some days suck, but then there are those fantastic ones with complete flow in between.
  • I had three pairs of bad running socks, which caused blisters to form sometimes. Bought two different sorts of specialty socks about six months ago to test them and like the X-socks (brand) so much I will stick with them for now. And since I have the size I need, I can but them for less online. I won't buy more pairs than…
  • I seriously thought I was going to die during week 1 running intervals. And I never thought I seriously could be one of those who run. But when I focussed on only one session at a time, it became doable. When I finished the running interval on W5D3 I burst into tears right then and there. I had never done anything like it…
  • I already had a sports bra and a pair of sports pants with wide legs, like for dancing or yoga. Still use both. Got a long-sleeved New Balance t-shirt and running shoes + socks, which weren't optimal so the latter are upgraded. For winter outdoor sports incl running I got a set of pants and jacket, and a hat with wind…
  • Sorry it's been challenging. My suggestion is to make a decision to run even slower than you walk, as long as you get the intervals done. Because if you can walk them, you can run at the same pace as walking. Don't give up, you can - and you will - do it.
  • See if it helps to slow down a bit when you run the W3D2 intervals.
  • Oh, nothing strange there. Many report they run slower than walk actually. Once you increase distance, as a beginner you'll gain in speed, too, so just focus on completing each interval as it's supposed to be done for now. If you don't run a full 5K when graduating, that's not unusual either, so thereafter you'll work on…

  • I'm tall and have quite a few kg to lose. I don't focus that much on what it looks like during the process of losing and for your own sake I think it would be a good idea to compare yourself to you only, rather than everyone around you. Even after you've lost what needs to go, you still have to feel comfortable in your own…
  • If you're new to running, I recommend the couch-to-5K programme. There is an active group here where you find all the information needed.
  • Does it count whether I have coffee in the system or not? Because my brain hurts a but from reading this thread and have yet to drink my first one this morning. I'm in the gelato group since forever but haven't even posted there yet. It feels like Pandora's box for me and have to stabilise my ice cream eating a bit first.…
  • Nice thought in theory, but in practice not so much. Life happens and unnecessary pressure won't do anyone any good. Make promises and commitments about stuff that actually matters. In this case, commit to doing the best you can each day, as that is all you can do and all anyone with even a bit of common sense will ask…
  • Jump into the daily thread! While someone might start on the same day, I guarantee you that nobody will finish the programme on the same day as you do. Life happens and already during the first week people will drift into their own progress rhythm. The daily thread offers support by and for everyone no matter what week…
  • Substitimos, God of all substitutions, be it banana, cauliflower or something else.
  • Daughter of Zeus no less. Sisters Euphrosyne and Thalia. The three Graces, portrayed and sculpted over and over. Two show their front to the viewer, one her back. I'm just me, though.
  • May I suggest next time when you ask for advice, you respect the time of others enough to provide us with exactly all restrictions that apply in your particular case. None of use are mind readers here and your circumstances certainly aren't usual. As for being taught not to say anything if you have nothing nice to say,…
  • Insecuritos, God of choosing unhealth over health because of insecurities and fears. I know him, which is why I out him this bluntly. ETA And quite nicely, this was my 2000th post here. Seems like it was meant to be
  • Halpia, Goddess of the inability/lack of desire to shut out a few negative comments in favour of the majority that is supportive stuff.
  • Excusos, God of all the sweet stuff (candy, baked goods) aka temptations in the office that one Has To Have.
  • Giffia is one of the good Goddesses though. She makes perfect gifs happen.
  • Askholes, God of askholing.
