That is straight up awesome!! You go, girl!

Bangalore, India :)

I see both ends of the spectrum here; people who think it is too little and people who think it is too much. I'll see how I cope with it!
-
It might just be the right amount of calories for me, at my current stats ;)

Bought a charge HR today :)

Thanks :sunglasses:

Yes, I'm new to fitness trackers and I was thinking about starting a discussion in the forums and asking Fitbit charge HR users what amount of accuracy they have had while using the device. I would eat back 50%of exercise calories anyway, and adjust from there.

Yes, that's why I bought a Fitbit today. It'll help me in giving a more precise idea of how much more I can eat in a day.

Just bought a Fitbit charge HR today :)

Thank you so much for the kind words.

Wow, you are truly an inspiration!!

You did not exercise shame me at all :) I perfectly understood what you were trying to tell me, and I agree. I want to exercise, partly because of all the extra calories ;)
-
Just do it :)

So, here are my stats: I'm 5'4'', 23 years old female and weigh about 237 lbs. At sedentary (which I pretty much am), mfp gives me around 2200 calories to maintain my weight. My goal weight is between 125-135 lbs (as of now; I have always been obese and I have no idea how I would look and feel at those weights).…

All valid points. I will have to consider and re-consider a lot of things along the way, it seems.

But part of my theory is that once I have eaten a particular amount of calories long enough ( and it will be long enough, considering I have about 110lbs to lose), I'll be able to eat without exactly counting all the calories ( I mean I'll be able to tell, say after 2 years, isn't it?) That way, I thought maintenance will…

You are absolutely right, I love eating! I have not had major diseases ( a little bit of hypothyroidism only) and no major emotional trauma. I am obese purely because of my love for food, although I do have to admit that I use food to deal with emotions like happiness, sadness, frustration, anger and what not. Thank you…

That's what I used to think as well, that a stable calorie goal is better for me, personally. But, my thoughts are whether that stable goal for me can be close to my goal weight's maintenance calories?
-
I thought I might as well give this a go, now. Let's see what happens!! Thanks :)

If nothing else has changed and if you started exercising recently, you might experience some water weight gain. Will go away with time. Happens to me.
-
I gain a good 10lbs during the first 3-4 days of my period.

You are so awesome!

Congratulations, a job very well done!! Just a word of caution here- be sure to do it in such a way so that you don't burn out. I'm 5'4'', female, 24 and very overweight (230lbs), but I eat 1500-1600 cals ( I average 10k-11k steps everyday). Great job, though and all the best for the rest of your journey!

I keep a 600 cal deficit thru diet; the rest is more or less thru exercise.

For now,I am just having a bit of fruit when I feel that I need to have something sweet. I am trying to wean off the habit.

For the CO part, I wear an MI fitness tracker that syncs with an app called Google fit. I live in a hilly area,so all my walks are done on an incline. Apart from the walking, and going up and down the stairs,I do not do any exercise (yet). I do think the burns are overestimated as well; that is why I feel more comfortable…

I have lost 11lbs in the last 4 weeks, but I attributed that to the water weight that people initially lose when they try to clean up their diet.

It's really difficult finding Indian food accurately logged in mfp actually(I live in India); on top of that, I live in a hostel, so although I weigh my food, I cannot accurately write down the recipe. I'm moving to an apartment next month and I'm gonna cook for myself (total novice), but I guess that will make the…

I am down 3.5 lbs from yesterday!! The scale messes with your mind a lot of times. Keep at it!!

I try to drink water between meals and when I first feel hungry; it's weird actually, at first I think I feel hungry and then I just start thinking that I am hungry and feel hungrier. I don't know how to control it. If I could, I would!
