Probably a daft question but what are NB running shoes?

What a horrible nasty person. You don't need 'friends' like that. Remove her from your fb, karma will look after her :) and do as others mentioned and use her comment as motivation.

sportsmans duathlon Co. Louth. My first ever duathlon! Everyone was very professional looking, but great really friendly. The first run and cycle were fine but I really struggled on the second run, my legs were like jelly it felt like an epidural wearing off! So have to work on my transitions before the second round in 3…

The calculator is excellent, it has me at 1700 cals a day, am going to follow your advice re: eating before and after runs. Thanks again ladies! ( and gentlemen of course!)
-
thanks all for the really helpful advice! I have to say I agree with the 200 cals of brocolli v 200 cals of cookies, I know which I prefer.. just another quick question, when you mention TDEE/BMR what exactly does that mean? sorry for my ignorance, I have seen it before on site but never understood it.

Thanks, Yes I think its going to be a learning experience for me :).

thanks all for the advice, sods law the following day was lovely and calm. With regards to the shoe laces, they may have not helped but the enormous suit I had flapping about me definitely didn't ! they only had mens suits left so lesson learned I will be organised next yr and have a more suitable santa outfit.
-
lol I tried! I found the biggest santa out there and tucked myself behind him but it was still too windy. The wind was blowing the sand across the beach into our faces, it was some craic.
-
10k santa dash on the beach in clontarf, Dublin. Not my greatest time at all, it was a great race the atmosphere was fantastic and all the santas looked great but once we turned into the wind I found it toughh so not a great time at all - 60 mins.
-
10K santa dash in clontarf, north county dublin on the 8th. Did a 1k dash recently with the kids so will be fun again running in my santa outfit :)

thanks all! No it definately wasn't too hot out, we had snow here yesterday. I normally run 10k a few times a week, so last week I increased it up to 13K and was fine and then on Monday 17K but felt rotten. I didn't at the time I could have happily kept going, I will increase it more gradually and eat some carbs before I…

sorry typo - I meant to say I didn't go fast, not that I was fasting. I had brekkie and chocolate before I ran.
-
I did a 10k race yesterday in 56 mins which I was happy with, the route had some seriously steep hills which were definately a challenge. Pity I live in such a flat area, I am going to keep driving out to do more hill work.

Thanks Carson, any tips on where to start? I had a look at the hal higdon site another poster mentioned, I invested in decent trainers ( though I found the trail ones I need over the wkend hard to adjust to) and I have run keeper on my phone.
