  • I've been doing Keto for 6 wks. I'm an obsessive learner and have been reading and listening to podcasts a LOT! I haven't been tracking carefully but think i need to. Ive lost 8lbs and stalled. Time to watch a bit more closely I think. Please add me. I need some keto friends. Ive been calorie tracking for 5 years.....i kid…
  • I think there is some confusion. Keto diet is practically gluten free. Keto means super low carbs, gluten comes from grains which arent consumed on a keto diet.
  • I'm Australian. We don't say Fall. Here it is strictly Autumn.
  • Hi everyone, I have been an on and off 1200 a day mfp calorie limiter for years now. Im not all that overweight but I do have 10kgs (22lbs) to lose. The first time I used mfp it took me 8 months to lose 22lbs, i was super committed amd very happy with the results but I was tired... tired of starving and having no energy,…
  • I just turned 41. I work full time and have 2 grown up children 19 and 21 and a 7 year old. My profile picture was taken 3 years ago after some great success with MFP but then I slacked off....moved interstate and stopped exercising. I'm 10kgs heavier now and need to refocus and stop making excuses. I would love a…
  • I have lost about the same amount of weight and I know it is noticeable!!! I have dropped 7% body fat and have collar bones again ;-) but like you, not a single person has said that I look like I've lost weight. Some people have said that I look 'really well' which people also said when I got chubby. I too am dying for…
  • HI and welcome, I also have PCOS, I had gestational Diabetes with my now 3 year old and gained a stack of weight while on insulin. Ive used that as an excuse to put in a little bit of effort and complain it doesn't work for those 3 years. In July last year I just got sick of myself and while I knew it would be hard I…
  • agreed, there's not really a lot of cardio involved. It is definitely a weight/ strength training class, gotta start somewhere with lifting and this is a great environment to do it in.
  • I have a fitbit, it does not monitor heart rate but is pretty much a glorified pedometer. It measures movement and calculates based on information that you input how many calories burned. I like it but it does not fill the shoes of a heart rate monitor and I am now asking Santa for a HRM ;-)
  • Wow, don't come to Australia, those eggs are down right cheap!! we pay between $3 and $6 a dozen. Enough to have made me get my own chickens, but our entire cost of living is very high.
  • When I first started working to lose weight I just made sure I ate under 1200 calories a day, however that was made up but found I recently stalled completely and couldn't lose more, despite going to the gym and literally working my butt off. So I decided to alter the foods I ate, still sticking to 1200calories but…
  • You cant 'get rid' of PCOS, if you've got it, you've got it for good but you can control symptoms. It depends what your goals are...are you trying to get pregnant, lose weight, stabilise periods or something else? I was diagnosed in '94 and have managed to have 3 beautiful children but have also had 4 miscarriages. I was…
  • Hi, I have been using MFP for about 4 months. Initially I wanted to lose 10kgs but now that I have lost 8 I will probably aim to lose another 2-3 kgs. I have not been eating back my exercise calories, I'm of the opinion that if I do that its a waste of time exercising. I am on 1200 calorie goal and only go over this by…
  • Way to go, yes I can see a big change happening. Good on you. I have PCOS too and know that we can find it harder to drop that weight than others. Keep up the good work, you WILL get there
  • Wow, so anorexics should not be skinny?
  • So many comments!!! I am on my third Mirena and though I have put some weight on this past year I cant attribute it to the Mirena, I have been less active and eating too much. I love the Mirena!!!!! I had my first Mirena for 4 years and was slim and never gained weight. I also have serveral friends with the Mirena who are…
  • I will still imbibe on weekends.....just restricting myself :)
  • Hi, Im new here too and have PCOS and type II diabetes. I was diagnosed PCOS at 16 (am now 37) and only recently iagnosed diabetic. I did have my previous IR treated with metformin but it really didnt agree with me, cue my current situation, trying to manage with diet and exercise. I dont limit my carbs but keep to 1200…
  • Hahaha, one of my co workers just asked me if I needed new work pants because the *kitten* in mine has stretched... It hasnt, my butt has shrunk!
  • Thanks, I appreciate that advice. Most days I go very close to my 1200, I know when I havent eaten enough, I feel tired and get headaches so I am careful to avoid feeling that way. Lately though I have had much more energy than when I was consuming much more calories (nutrient empty calories mind you). I am now making…
  • Thanks, I did my Pilates tonight. Ate my entire 1200 calorie allowance. Feeling better tonight :)
  • I would also add that it is vitally important that the MFP community stop embracing the bad religion of weight loss bros, and start to think for themselves. The community as a whole suffers under the weight of so much misinformation, perpetuated by the uninformed. to quote a fellow MFP member: "starvation mode" is NOT A…
  • I forgot to reply about type of exercise. I either run on the treadmill or use the crosstrainer 3 times a week for 30 minutes and have added pilates twice a week for strength.
  • Thanks everyone, I am rather short. Not extremely as someone put it, 162cm current weight is 66kg. I have recently been diagnosed as Type II diabetic, until recently I was insulin resistant. Current goal of 1200 calories per day is as per doctors instruction. He has told me to exercise and keep to 1200 calories per day,…
  • nope, my total food yesterday was 972 calories and I exercised 391. so nett was 581. I should be positively dropping the weight. I am not excessively overweight so I guess I need to repare for the long haul.
