Paleo Lifestyle: 3 eggs scrambled in 2 tablespoons of butter, with 1/2 cup of nopales (cactus) mixed in. Then I'm not hungry for 4-5 hours.

It took until July, 2013. I was 57, and staring into the future after having had to retire from the effects of Type II diabetes. I weighed 315 pounds, with painfully arthritic knees, neuropathy in my feet, terrible food choices, and clinical depression. After studying the best ways for a diabetic to get healthy, I found…

I recommend the Paleo Lifestyle: no wheat, potatoes, corn, legumes, or dairy. Your blood glucose doesn't spike when you eat plenty of protein and animal fats. Vegetables and fruits are measured against their glycemic index numbers; I offset my veggie cravings by putting plenty of BUTTER on them! Bonus: you hardly EVER feel…

Congratulations! You've had wonderful results after your year of hard work! Have you read the Maintenance forums on MFP?

I use unflavored gelatin powder in lukewarm water to improve the amount of collagen in my skin. After losing 50 pounds in only 6 months, there was loose skin on my upper arms, belly, and upper thighs. There was a long plateau with no weight loss, BUT thanks to using the unflavored gelatin, my skin has tightened up. I…

A loss of 11 pounds is great for the first month! Happy Birthday! It's exciting to think of how much progress you will have made before your next celebration!

I can see the improvement. Vive la differénce!

I returned to MFP today, after being gone for several months. After I had lost 50 ppunds, I hit an 8-month plateau. I left MFP, but I was blessed: I regained only 3 pounds, I lost those 3 pounds, and 3 more so now I'm ready to use MFP to track progress in my food, and motivate me to exercise. I am going to make a big life…

My NSV is how loosely this t-shirt fits today, compared to last year!

Please don't think that "low carb" means to reduce the amount of WHEAT you eat. Go to youTube to hear Dr. Davis, a cardiologist, talk about his findings in the book, 'Wheat Belly', or read the wheatbellyblog.com. Before you scoff, go check out my recommendations!

Congratulations on your modesty and constraint. I would have told him how much weight I've lost, and how long it took!

It is a wonderful feeling, I know. Last week, I bought three pairs of jeans at a sale in the second-hand store. I can't fit into them and zip them up yet, but I'm calling them 'Victory Jeans'. They'll replace my **former** 'Victory Jeans', which I got out of my closet. I'll donate the latter jeans when they are baggy…

I add canned coconut cream to my morning coffee. It's tasty, there's plenty of fat, has low carbs, and it's sweet enough that I don't add sugar.

I just tell myself repeatedly: MFP is freeeeeee! For the other items you mention, we should probably nag MFP, daily or weekly, to accommodate low-carbers.

I think that the last two pictures of each set show improvement in your legs. Congratulations on the results of all that hard work!
-
Congratulations upon both of your accomplishments; getting sober and losing 100 pounds in only ONE YEAR! Best wishes!

^^^^^ ONE 'off day' probably won't affect you. It may even give your metabolism a boost!

Brava!

My khaki jeans were looser today than they were the last time I wore them.
