Season 3 of the show is "roughly" the first half of book 3. Season 4 will be the second half of book 3. However, the first two seasons do coincide with Book 1 and Book 2. A Storm of Swords (book 3) is just a massive book where so much happens.

I finished the program twice and found that if you can power through the first few weeks, you will hit your stride and find a groove. By then it becomes habit and it's a lot easier to press play. It really does become addictive.

The Starks, though the prototypical "heroes" are some of the worst "players" in the Game of Thrones. Honor and righteousness don't seem to get you very far in Westeros. I think Jon is the best "Stark" player to this point as he allows for some moral ambiguity.

Yeah, it was a real gut punch when I read it in the book. I actually think I threw the book. Still didn't feel prepared to see it on the show. Even knowing it was coming didn't help much. Still hurt.
