Workout A takes me about 1:15 and workout B takes me about 45 mins not including hiit so that does seem quite long to me. I have just finished stage 3 and it does get easier. The Best bit of advice I got on the BWM was to break it down to 4 sets of 6 for each of the moves. That made a huge difference to being able to…

Unless you are lifting 135lb on a barbell you don't need to use a box as you are already lifting from a deficit. (The point of the lift is to lift from a deficit) TBH I would find a new gym and you are going to outgrow the dumbells soon.

Because it makes me happy. It makes me confident. It makes me feel badass. Because the strength I have gained in the last 4 months since starting lifting is astonishing. Most importantly though, because it makes me like me. I didn't like the fat lazy cow who didn't really do a lot, i'm starting to love the me who kicks…

This x a gazillion!!! But to answer your question it really depends on your genetics, how much you intend to run and really your starting point. I run but I also lift so I can't really answer from the 'run only' camp but my legs have certainly slimmed down since starting lifting and adding running into the mix hasn't had…

If you go under the cardio bit and search strength training it comes up. That's what I log it as.

Smith machine is not the best option. I would sub for goblet squats over using a smith machine. Prone jackknife you should just do them. Roll onto the ball to make it easier. It's very true with this program, you get out wha you put in. Give it everything!!! Good luck.

Great news. Bet you can't wait to get started :)

You look really healthy now, and I have to mention it, because it deserves a mention, you butt looks amazing :drinker:

The £60 a month I pay my gym is what gets me there just to run on a treadmill or use the elliptical. I pay for that equipment, I am going to use it lol

They are very similar. The main difference there is, is the foot position. I am also slightly further forward for the lunges. have a look at these vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOw0OWJM9o for the BSS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMtUYs2rIP8 this is a split squat with rear foot elevated but the foot position is the…

I could do about one push up. I started doing them about chest height and by the end of stage one I did 3 sets of 8 real pushups!! It took between 40-50 mins, depending on how many warm up sets I had to do for the squat/deadlift I am only just starting on stage 2 but I have lost inches, am stronger and my confidence has…

I am using 15lbs in each. For the balance issue a good tip I got of the ladies on the FB page is to look about 2 feet in front of you. It is easier to balance like that. I notice the muscle line when I am driving, most distracting when your driving and suddenly go 'oh look, muscle' lol

If you have gone from weight watchers (seriously low cal) to doing TDEE then you will gain weight initially. I would carry on with what you are doing for a few more weeks and see if it evens out. In stage 2 you bring interval training into it as well so that will bring your energy expenditure up a bit to. For now you need…

It depends on the size of the plates you have on. You want the bar to be about mid shin height. (depending on how tall you are)
-
Your results are amazing!!! You look so different and only a 2lb weight loss. Even more proof that the scale isn't accurate. It's scary how easy it is to injure yourself. Glad you have both healed up now. Look forward to seeing your next update.

I have smaller plates on the bar, I just use other plates on the floor to raise it up to the correct hight. My gym also has smaller bars that I raised up with step risers so that it was in the right place before I got up to higher weights. For squats I found that goblets really helped with my form. Its still not perfect…

I get about 100-130 grms of protein a day. Rule of thumb is to get 0.8grms per 1lb of body weight (thats from what I have learnt on the boards here, not the book). I don't quite hit that as I don't want to use the shakes. I do find I crave it though now. I am just starting stage 2 now so I have been doing it about 8 wks. I…

Snap, thats the same as me. I was well chuffed I could do 35 deadlifts of the 25kgs I struggled to do 10 with just 6 wks before. I am pleased I did them.

Me to. I hate jumping jacks. They make everything jiggle, even if you have nothing jiggly lol

I do 5-10 mins on the treadmill then I do the stretches and then yes, I do warm up for the first lifts they way they suggest. Its not just from these guys, its a standard warm up for weights. One, it prepares your body for following the range of motion. Two, by starting with the lighter weight it makes your work weight…

I would use this place for the worksheets. http://werkit.com/programs/nrol4w you have to put in a bit from the book to prove you own it but the work sheets are a good layout. The workout logs are made from a generic form and they allow for 4 sets but you only do 2. Just ignore the last 2 spaces. I don't follow the diet. I…

I spy Marks & Sparks Extremely Chocolatey Mini Bites Mmmmmmm I would eat them, eat them all :)

Ladies, I am checking in and checking out. It appears my love of new rules was too much for me to part with and have decided to stick with it. I am still going to keep my nose in here as there are some fantastically experienced lifters in here and I truly value their opinions. Plus I am a nosey cow lol Wish you all well.…

You can lose weight with diet alone. I lost my first 40lbs like that. How much of that 40lbs was muscle though is anyone's guess. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. If you can physically exercise then I would do it. Its a great buzz

Holy cow that kicked my butt big time!! FSPP - 2x10 @ 20kgs (bar) (that right there is some hard dodo) Step ups -2x20 @ 6 risers / 20 kgs Dumbbell one point row - 2x20 @ 14kgs Push ups 2x10 @ 2 step riser Static lunge 2x20 @ 14 kgs (had to drop the weight from 20kgs and couldn't balance) Plank 2x30 secs twice (had to break…

^^This. I am due to weigh tomorrow and expecting a gain or maintain. Hopefully next week i'll be back to normal. I know you will but listen to your Dr, 3 sections in 3 years is some serious stuff. Losing weight takes second place to you not ending up in hospital from over doing it. Oh, and congrats on your babby. Nothing…

My thoughts exactly. Drew me straight in

Boo that you have to wait but you have to follow dos's orders. I didn't (couldn't) follow docs orders after my surgery (was meant to have a carer for 6 wks but they let me down, I wasn't meant to get out of bed) and I ended up having to have another surgery to correct the damage caused by doing more than I should of.…

Hi, First proper day today starting out. 5x5 Squats - 30kgs (66lbs) 5x5 Bench - 20 kgs (45lbs) 5x5 Rows - 25kgs (55lbs) Stupid, on Saturday I did 30kgs on rows with the oly bar no probs. Today I tried to do the same weight on a smaller bar (so bar 5kgs and weights on it 25kgs) and I couldn't do it, well I could but form…
