  • You both look amazing. You should be so proud of yourselves and each other.
  • That's a phenomenal loss. A huge well done to you
  • Well done. Its great when you get the bug for a new exercise. Keeps you motivated.
  • This right here is exactly what I needed to see today. You are awesome and a true inspiration to me.
  • Thanks for your reply. Yes, of course I care about the number on the scale, I'm only human after all lol. But ultimately it's about the way I look. I want to drop inches more than pounds (though I won't turn my nose up at both). I have decided to stick with it. If I was to lose 2 dress sizes I'd be elated heck, I'd be over…
  • It's just that leap of faith isn't it. I know logically it will work but that small part of my brain just keeps nagging. I know there is no quick fix. I have lost 4 stone (56lb) since this time last year and I know I'll get there I am just well chuffed with my progress since I got going again properly at the beginning of…
  • Tomorrow when I am doing these at the gym I am going to remember thousand laugh and end up face planting because of it. Made me crack up.
  • I was on the FB group and looked t the FAQs and there is one there that asks I have 50lbs to lose is this the right program for me? And the advice from Alwyn is to do stages 1,2,7 & 4 (the other stages are strength building) then do Rachel cosgroves drop two sizes book. I am going to follow the advice in the new rules one…
  • If your gym has a smith machine the bar makes a great place to do the incline push-ups as you can adjust the height of the bar. Plus you find a use for the smith machine

  • Its hit and miss to start with. My first times in (and I am only just starting) I started with what I thought for the first set and then adjusted on the second. Some things I under estimated and only one I over estimated (the lat pull downs) if you are already lifting then you will have a good idea of what you can handle.…
  • Thank you. I have worked my *kitten* off to do it and I am happy to continue to work my butt off. Looking at your pic you are already quite slim starting so I would imagine that would be why, as you word it 'only' lost 1-2% body fat. I started at 186 and am now 174 with a body fat of 44% down to 34%. This is where my…
  • I have read the book, and hundreds of articles and posts on here about it. I understand the science and I know that eventually it will work but my progress has been good so far. If doing this is going to then mean its going to take the full 6 mths program to lose the rest of the weight then I am not 100% behind that as I…
  • Once a week on a Friday morning. Have done the every day thing and it just drives you nuts in the end.
  • Did my first work out B today (I much prefer A) Deadlift 15 x 25 kgs (55lb) - (warmup) - 15 x 30kgs (66lb) Both sets Shoulder press - 15 x 10kgs (22lbs) (both sets) - my weakest exercise Lat Pull down 15x 25kgs (66lbs) (both sets) Lunges 30 x 16kgs (35lbs) Both sets - HATE these Swiss Crunch (always thought that sounds…

  • I love your NSV about the towel. I had that one a couple of weeks back and was really chuffed. It really is the little things isn't it :) As for the push ups, if it were me, I would be inclined to start with the incline (pun unintended) I can do 5 proper push ups, but thats it. So I have started with the incline, of which…

  • It does say in the book that if you want to re introduce some cardio in stage 2 you can and recommends interval training. He does make some suggestions about how to do it and for what time (I know it was 1 min/2min set for 15 mins) but I can't think what he recommends to do it on. I have always done it on the exercise bike…
  • The link to it is on this thread http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/444649-am-i-eating-enough
  • I am 5'6, 35 and 174lbs. Using the spreadsheet on here my cals work out at 1365 on non lift days and 1608 (or something like that) on lift days. Which seems about right for me. If you didn't use the spreadsheet on here maybe try plugging your numbers is there and seeing what it comes out at. Good luck
  • There is a big difference there. Well done to you.
  • I could just sit with a spoon and a huge costco jar and nom nom nom my way through it. On Holiday I discovered Nutella on the go. So glad they are not in the shops here as I am not sure I am that strong to not buy them.
  • Same as that^^ My Mum used to say they are just full of rubbish and refused to buy them and by the time I was doing my own shopping the appeal had passed.
  • Request sent :)
  • I am not in the group (yet) but just to say that all of a sudden I am getting stuff on my news feeds from groups and I have had notifications turned off for ages on all of them. I am hoping it's a glitch and FB sort it out as I don't want my news feed spammed with group stuff all the time.
  • I started on Sunday and I am feeling it today. My starting weights for Workout A are Squat - 30kgs (66lb) 15 x 2 Push ups - body weight - chest height bar 15 x 2 Seated Rows - 35kgs (77lb) 15 x 2 Step ups - 16kgs (35lb) 15 x 2 (or 30 x 2, however you would put it) Prone Jacknife - 15 x 2 (missed that I was only meant to do…

  • Thank you. It made sense doing it that way, it was just afterwards I wondered if I had done it wrong.
  • I love these. I guess I am lucky in that I find them quite easy to do. One thing my trainer pointed out was to make sure you bring you hips right back down on the straight and bring them as low as poss on the bend. I did 15 on set one the read I should of done 8 (also then remembered reading tht on here to). My abs hurt…
  • I am a beginner lifter and I started 'New Rules of Lifting For Women' today. I read the book a while back and was all set to go but bottled it at the gym. Today I went and just did it, its very simple to start with and easy to do. There is a group on here for it…
  • I also found today that its very useful for doing different level push ups on the bar.
  • ^^This and this also made me actually LOL
  • I will be making this next weekend. Just need to convert to english measurements first so I can half it to serve 2. Thanks for sharing. This looks amazing
