Excellent post for clearing it up for the masses. The only problem I have is that it still used the term "burning" when referring to the release of energy. You can actually burn sugar (marshmallows anyone?), but fire is not good in your body. Your cells are much more controlled. They got it almost 100% correct.

Thigh or breast? it makes a difference!

Actually, I've seen from Dr. Oz (and other sources I cannot remember) that it's recommended to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch everyday. Apparently you eat less with less variety. Your body tends to adapt much more to your level of activity as opposed to the food you are giving it, assuming you eat balanced.…

In addition to the great ideas previously mentioned, you'll find MFP to be very civil and friendly. Many forums on the internet could take a less from here. Soon many strangers will be buddies!

Take advantage of the rights bestowed upon you by those who have fought for your right to voice your opinion. Just because you disagree and are in the minority doesn't give anyone the right to ignore you. After all, you didn't ignore me. Anyhoo, I made my point and further comment will derail this thread, so I will…

You should definitely start doing low weight, high reps (15-18) for upper and lower body. Muscle burns energy like crazy--cardio burns now, muscle burns always--and it's not just biceps that will get you there. Your abs and your obliques, you need to tone all your muscles. And don't worry about bulking up, you have to lift…

This was really unnecessary. To be more constructive you could have formed your alternatives and left it in the feedback section of the forums. I think the idea of cleaning out some of the database is a good one, but you went about it the wrong way. People have just as much right to add foods to the database as you have to…

glad everyone found it useful! To be honest I bookmarked like a week ago when someone else posted it. I don't remember who it was, but all credit to them: thank you!

Your 6 egg whites at lunch cost you 96 cals, but your 6 egg whites at breakfast cost you 102? BTW, g'damn I thought I ate a lot of eggs!

500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. After the switch though you can bump them down a level to regular walking around in shoes. :-)

If you already counted it when you chose your lifestyle (sedentary, light active, active, etc.) then don't count it again. The thought of logging cooking prep is hilarious to me. Unless you usually eat prepared meals and have to spend hours cutting mirepoix, i wouldn't think it would make much difference at the end of the…

It can't be that minor if it's going to keep you out of work for 2 weeks! That said the doctor is the only person that should be giving you advise on this one. You might want to check if it's okay to be in a deficit while healing. While you won't be as active your body will need fuel to repair.

You look amazing! I can guarantee you that you're turning heads. :-)

Actually there are lots of people on MFP that have tried or want to try different detox, cleanse, and colon-emptying programs. It's all bunk, but people are always looking for a quick solution--not hard work and smart living.

They say there's no such thing as a free lunch, but you can have someone else pay... There are no calorie free foods... at least not anything remotely natural. I don't let the government buy my lunch, I don't let scientists make my lunch.

I shaved cals by dropping from 2% to 1%... if you don't drink it in a glass, you don't notice a difference.

I'd certainly buy 670. It's a normal 300 slice plus all that extra dough! I also agree with Courtney and say if you can't find sicilian on the net just use pan.

you can always put it under aerobics and then choose the right intensity level.

Just to weigh-in, I don't have a different opinion. Erickirb is correct.

Culinarily and nutritionally, it's 3oz cooked.

Yes, the biology/anatomy of the egg notwithstanding, I'm not the type to consider an egg meat. I consider "flesh" meat. If you are eating skin or muscle, it's meat.

Rock climbing and dinner with friends tonight, maybe a few Netflix this weekend, and possibly a hike at a state park on Sunday.

We had ours about a month ago... even at those reduced prices I couldn't afford it. lol $70 + drinks, tax, and tip. Just to blow my calories. Sometimes being woefully underemployed has it's benefits! Enjoy the steak! Ribeye is so yummy because it's so fatty. NY Strip is a little better from a fat perspective, but Filet is…

I hope you had SafeSearch on! Great stories, I want to hear more. :drinker:

A hottie is a hottie, regardless of what the tag says. Wear your large proud and with confidence when you get to your goal!

BMI isn't the best indicator of health. I believe very active people and tall people get bad results. The important number is your height to waist ratio. You want a waist less than half your height.

load up on salad before you go then eat a little bit and eat more healthy when you get home.
