I'm sorry, I'm confused. Are you upset because some things are in mass (grams, ounces, pounds, kilograms) versus volume (cups, fluid ounces, quarts)?

are you already walking or speed walking? that will tell you pretty quickly how much your knees can take!
-
Big congrats, that's an awesome feeling! Can't wait to see pics in 10 pounds. :-)

Honestly, these things happen. The best thing is that you've realized it and are going to nip it in the bud. You're 2/3 of the way there and you're doing fantastic. If you felt great for 60 days, you shouldn't beat yourself up for 7. That's 90%! 90% is success in just about every thing imaginable, so get back on that horse…

congrats! never again... :)

Having a close female friend who is a lawyer, I hear all to often of judges making comments in open court about women not looking professional enough. Pant suit, not acceptable, must be long skirt before you enter my courtroom-kind of comments. I'd consider your torso.

Why can't you eat 3-6 times a day??? 12 hours off what you would if you worked during the day? I don't understand. How much sleep do you get? In your cop car, you can have nuts, fruit, cut veggies, whole grain bread or crackers, nut butter, etc. So even if you don't know when you'll eat next you can have food handy.

Where is your sugar coming from? Remember that some sugars are better than others!

You'll find sooner or later that 1100 is not enough. p90x recommends more, as does MFP. Not judging, just saying at some point 1100 will cause you to lose muscle mass as well.
-
There are beachbody coaches/sellers of the p90x system on here that would be happy to price it for you. But past that, I would only suggest ebay and craigslist

I know what you mean. I carry my weight decently. I've got a friend who weighs about 20 lbs less, is within about an inch of my height and looks 40-50 lbs less. He looks really good and was surprised at his weight. I could lose and weigh what he does, but he'd look much smaller. *shrug*

My wife has recently become an avocado fiend. It's my fault. Somehow, I decided I liked guacamole after years of not liking it. Now she likes it... and puts avocado on everything. lol

Your body is not a mathematician, so the number of cals you consume vs expend isn't the only way to determine weight change. Are you eating less or are you eating less and eating better foods? Better foods equals healthier body, regardless of your weight. 6500 cals - 4200 cals = 2300 cals = ~2/3rds of a pound. Why work…

Very interesting read. Do you have the link that points to this article?

Somehow I think you know that doesn't make sense... How do you dilute salt? With water. So the more water you drink, the less salt you have in your body. Less salt means holding on to less water. Makes perfect sense, right?

I think it doesn't show up because xanga is blocked. ;-) @lina Great job!!!

1 of the things I love about MFP is that it seems many people don't care where you're at in your journey, they just want to help and be helped! Some of my friends have less than 20 lbs and some more than 100. Love this place! *group hug*

Quinoa/Barley/Whole grain pasta Bananas/Melon/Strawberries/Berries Protein shakes Little, tiny chunks of meat Homemade soup Mashed vegetables or roasted and diced really small. That's all I got off the top of my head! HTH

just cardio? If you're strength training, do different muscle groups. If it's just cardio, no problems.

Walk it! It's still an accomplishment to do and you need the exercise anyway, right? But before that, go to your primary care physician (general practitioner) and get something for the asthma like pulmicort or symbiacort if you're done with having kids (it's a teratagen). If the doc can't figure out what's going on with…

Congrats on finding a happy weight! Yes, you should move up to maintenance cals. The point of the 1200 was for you to lose weight, which you don't want to do. Plus you want to tone up, so you'll need to add in strength training which will require more cals. You may even want to add a little more protein to your numbers. So…

I meant to say this as well. I would strongly consider putting off the wedding until this issue is cleared up. It may seem drastic to some, but if he's going to continue down his path while you get healthy it could cause problems and resentment in the future.
-
Being a husband, my perspective may be different: First, obviously he isn't going to change if he doesn't want to. That said, tell him how important it is that you get healthy and that he needs to be supportive. Also tell him that if you're going to be married it's important for him to be healthy too. He can't think just…

Every body is different, so everybody is different! FWIW, if you find you can do 3720 too easy, you can step it up to 2lb/week, which would be 3220. You can do this when you have more to lose. When you get within 20 lbs of your goal, you certainly can't do 2 lb/week and will likely be at .5lb/week and ~14-1800 cals. You…
