I've had a few trainers over the years and I've gotten them all through my gym. I made it very clear what I was looking to do and they recommended people to me. A couple that I spoke to wanted to basically hook me so I couldn't do anything without them and those are the ones to avoid. Others, like my most recent one, were…

I was a beginner and told my the trainer I wanted to hire that I wanted to learn proper form for deadlifts, squats, cleans, and she made it very clear that she won't teach cleans because she thought they were too crossfit-ish and since she didn't have much knowledge of them she wasn't confident that she could help me with…

Ah! Glad its not your wedding, there are a lot of the shredding for the wedding posts on here. Just buy something that you can feel pretty and confident in and try to slowly lose the weight in a healthy way.

In 4 weeks you should only expect to lose between 2-8lbs to lose the weight in a healthy manner. Just try to maintain this month and buy a dress that fits so you don't pass out at your wedding.

I can't see the video because my office blocks everything but I was born flat footed and have been getting orthodic inserts since I was about 12 years old. I've seen 3 different doctors for the inserts and not one of them ever said there was any way to "fix" it, just to make it easier to live with. If there is a way to fix…

I'd have to respectfully disagree. You've already been hurt with the wrong shoes so you should see how bad it is when you aren't fitted properly. You could make a day trip out of it if it seems like too long of a drive. Check out something else in the area, go to a park, etc... You have options but obviously this is up to…

In Google search "running store (town and state you live in)" I just did it based on your profile and a few different places came up. These stores are really the best place shop to avoid injuries later, as you've already experienced pain with the wrong shoes, this should be a priority if you want to continue running.
-
Go to a speciality running store and have a gait analysis peformed. They will give you options and then you can decide what's best for you. Don't trust anyone online or in a big general sports store to tell you which shoe is right for your feet.

If you really want to walk a half marathon, check out races that are both the half and full, ones like the one I did Sunday that involve a second lap for the full, have a max time limit that includes both races. That should give you plenty of time to complete a half. The marathon would be tougher unless the max time is…

The shoes should really come from a specialty running store. Just walk in, say you are looking to get fitted and they should be able to help you find the right shoes for you and your goals. Don't try to pick out shoes on your own, there are a lot of different factors that go into the right pair of shoes and trust me, you…

Eh some people use wrist wraps because they saw somene use them and thought they needed them. If she didn't look like she was doing an alternate form of deadlifting, like stiff leg, I might have mentioned about the bumper plates to her.

So I consider myself a runner, I run with a group 3 days a week and have a few races under my belt. I HATED and refuse to ever participate in the Color Run ever again. Going into it I figured it would be a fun little run but the color, which was just ground up chalk, made it so I couldn't breath, and for the most part it…

I've had a pretty prominent bunion on my left foot and a mild/moderate one on my right foot since I was about 12 and around that time I got my first custom orthotic inserts (also have flat feet) getting wider shoes have helped so now I only feel pain when I'm wearing shoes that are too tight. I've never heard of a cream…

I too enjoy picking things up and putting them down. B) ETA: I can't type before I have caffeine...

I did a century a couple years ago when I got my clipless pedals. The guy who sold them to me told me to test out by only clipping in one foot at a time until I felt comfortable so I could avoid crashes as much as possible. I've only had a couple so I think that worked for me! Good luck!

Hi! Not a survior here but my mom is! She had a massectomy though, then chemo so she lost a substantial amount of weight. I wish you the best! <3

haha I love it! It's the first time I've wanted a thigh gap! ;)

Depends on how you feel. Since its mostly an ab class, if you feel very full then I would say skip the class. If you just don't feel hungry, you would probably be fine.

When I was working out at 5am I needed to get to bed earlier, that was the key for me to successfully wake up and get my workout in. I also generally lifted in the morning. I tried cardio a couple times and hated every second of it. I set out my clothes for the morning, went to sleep earlier, set a back up alarm just in…

I think by fat the OP means body fat, not which macro to eat to use as intentional fuel. Personally, I don't eat before I run in the morning. I don't like my stomach feeling kind of full and noticed it hurts my performance if I eat too close to running. I also don't want to wake up at 5:30am to go for a long run at 8am…
-
^ Agreed. I know if I don't have enough to eat I could easily nap afer a run, wake up an hour or so later and not fall back asleep again. With only 11lbs to go you should only be aiming for 0.5lbs-1lb a week weight loss, try adjusting your goals in MFP and you should see some results.

I love my calves but I do I have trouble finding boots even now, though when I last went to a running store, they measured about 15.5" maybe its just different boot styles/designers?

Most people are still under the impression that women can bulk up with no effort at all which is a myth. That's probably why your husband and many others think women should only lift 5lb weights and do 20+ reps. Follow the input of others on this post and look into Starting Strengths, Strong Curves, New Rules, and Strong…

Lol personally my underwear doesn't get anywhere near my natural waistline, but if this is true then I guess I have my underwear to thank for my booty and not all the lifts I do! Also since I haven't seen this addressed yet, don't get those waist wraps. It just helps to lose water weight, which you'll gain right back when…

You're neglecting large parts of your body if you are only doing arm and leg lifts. By core I assume you mean ab exercises which are probably still neglecting your chest and back. You should be working out your full body if you don't want a muscle imbalance. ^ I agree with this. Check out a structured strength building…

Jefit and bodybuilding.com - both have apps and websites you can work with. I personally like jefit a lot, it shows me my last sets, when I hit a new 1RM and is easy to work with and sync to the website. I believe with Jefit if you pay for the premium version you can get the graphs you want besides the ones for the Main…

I ran my first one in March and my second one is in 2 weeks. Before I started training, I joined a running group and that definitely helped the long runs seem shorter. This is certainly not necessary for all everyone. I enjoy running alone but running with people is great too, especially if you need motivation to get out…

I do pretty much exactly this. I have been doubling up on a short run day with a lifting session in the morning and having the day after leg day off as well as the day after a long run. Overall its working for me, I get to do everything I love and just have to wake up earlier one or two days a week.

There is no such thing as toning. What you are referring to is having less body fat in which case you will need to lose weight and try to retain muscle mass. I think what the first reply was trying to say was 1g per lb of lean body mass which is fine. Most people trying to retain muscle and lifting aim for 0.8g/lb or…

You aren't eating high protein. I am 5'4" 132lbs, I lift 3 days a week, run 3 days a week and I aim for (at least) 120g protein each day that I'm aiming to lose weight. I also eat about 1750 cals per day and I'm losing consistently. Even if you are very short, if you are working out there is no reason for you to be aiming…
