  • They are great for helping you hit your protein macros while keeping your caloric intake relatively low. Some people also find that protein heavy foods or shakes help them feel fuller for longer which also assists in keeping your caloric intake in check. They are just another tool in the toolbox.
  • the ANT agent is software you can download. It is the old bulletproof Garmin software before garmin tried to get all fancy with its express software (which looks good but isnt functional). You can download it here: http://www8.garmin.com/fitness/ant_product_page.jsp It works in conjunction with your watch and USB stick to…
  • Go outside. It really is that simple.
  • I have a 310xt and I gave up on the express software long ago bc IT NEVER FREAKING WORKS. What I do is use the USB ANT stick along with the Garmin ANT Agent to get the raw data files to my computer. From there you can the files to whatever site you want (Garmin Connect/ Map my run /runkeepr) to analyze the data.
  • You are going to be farting up a storm if you eat that much protein. I don't know your stats specifically but I'm pretty sure that is way more than you will need.
  • Look at you being a stellar employee. You completely beat all the beach body coaches to the sales pitch before they could even pull out their shakeology reviews.
  • Hang in there man, you may have some loose skin at the end but there are things you can along with your weight loss to help with the overall appearance of it. I'm down a bit over 60lbs from my start. Along with losing I had a mix of strength AND hypertrophy training to help keep things tight. It takes a bit of searching to…
  • The whole point of protein shakes REVOLVES around the concept of macro nutrient content. People use them in order to get their protein requirements up but keep their calories comparably low to what you would need to eat in order to match those macros. As for the difference: isolate is the more refined than the concentrate…
  • Throw them in the freezer overnight, it will kill the bacteria causing the smell. and Just letting soapy water run over your feet in the shower doesn't count as washing those nasty feet :)
  • Congrats. You will go broke paying for 5K races long before your body will go broke from running them. Have fun and sign up for any upcoming ones you want to do.
  • Don't give up yet. MFP burn tracking and overall calorie guides is only a guesstimate at best and we are all not cookie cutter people. You may have to bite the bullet and buy a heart rate monitor, closely track your food and experiment to figure out where your levels of weight loss/maintenance/weight gain are for you…
  • I'll second that one. Awesome collection there that you don't feel like you are eating low calorie.
  • I was about to ask for your autograph...
  • ^^^ now I'm jelly
  • Is it jelly school enrollment day in this thread?
  • If you've got it, flaunt it.
  • If that azz is motivating enough you"ll see me a few feet behind ya in your finishing photo....and my eyes won't be down checking my garmin.
  • I did not but if your theory suggest that the 8:30-10 minute corrals are the best for sightseeing then I think you are on to something and should look for funding a study.
  • Hold up there man. If you start rocking out those sevens at a marathon then the eye candy starts gets fewer and more far between.
  • Happened to me as well. Not so much with the halfs, I actually got leaner running around those distances but with full training I definitely gained weight and my body composition started to change slightly. I'm watching what I eat a bit closer this time around bc I feel into the trap of "screw it, I just ran X miles today,…
  • So......if you've done the research then why are you still leaning towards buying one? Just curious as to if you found something I did not.
  • Even if your question wasn't riddled with assumptions it would still be impossible to say. You throw even more of a wild card in there when you talk about one falling...are taking in random environmental factors at that point? What about possible genetic conditions? Hell, what if one just got cancer. Maybe the question…
  • Ice elevation compression ibuprofen... I forgot who said it but I love the quote "an error only becomes a mistake when you refuse to correct it." In running, mistakes can be exponentially more expensive than a hundred bucks to correct once they have established themselves. Get those shoes as soon as ya can.
  • If you are basically untrained than they will help you pic up a little bit of performance by making your lungs work harder. They will not however increase your red blood cell count which is the whole awesomeness that is altitude training. Not even the really expensive (few grand) sleep tents will help you there. If money…
  • I guess there is always the backdoor alternative for those thigh gap wind tunnel types.
  • 4 Miler this morning. It was a ****ty run.
  • I'm not a morning person but try to do as many mornings as possible. To better my chances of it happening I set my alarm clock across the room so I have to physically get up and walk to it. It still sucks once I turn it off but second step is to wash my face and brush my teeth. This usually wakes me up just enough to have…
  • No, this is actually a legit concern for marathoners and ultras as some find their feet expand overtime due to the excessive pounding mileage on them. Half-marathoners not so much though, wouldn't worry about it.
