I feel your pain! I'm 44 and probably carrying an extra 25-30 lbs. I'm currently trying to get 15 of them off to get myself in better condition for hiking season. I've got some mountains to climb this year, but don't see myself getting very far the way I am right now. Good luck!

There is some pretty solid advice in amongst these replies. Just be reasonable and limit portions, and keep a good count. If you stay within your caloric goals for the day, it won't matter if you eat a hot dog or nachos or beer or whatever. Even if you exceed by a bit for the day it won't wreck your weight loss goals to go…
