A little more than 36 inches without stretching, easily stretches another 12. It rides right at the end of your breastbone, so it fits a very wide variety of body types. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll fit.

My favorite: 1 scoop of protein (30 g in mine) 1 tbsp flax 3/4 cup almond milk (unsweetened) 1 banana 1 tbsp almond butter 1 piece of dark chocolate (1 square, not bar) 1 hot cocoa mix (or sugar free chocolate syrup depending on calorie/sugar requirements) 2 cups of ice There's no choking this shake down, you'll want more.

Depends on other factors, this calculator looks ok and is near what my HRM says: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx

Don't focus on the weight starting off, you'll set unrealistic expectations later. It's going to depend on what weight you started at and what you've changed in your lifestyle, but it's common to lose 10 or even 25 lbs very quickly. Then reality will set in, which is why I think it best to ignore all the starting wins and…

Good post. The cause of most "i'm eating under" plateaus out there. Nutrition labels, anything processed and restaurant food can be up to 20% off of stated calories. It can make things aggravating. Two related articles, there was a nice story/video making rounds a couple month ago I can't find.…

I've been doing it for a couple months, no real issues here. I'm a bear. I shave every two days with a Gillette Fusion, the job becomes tougher if you go longer than two. Starting on edges and working towards the crown. I have some crazy tough hair, so it's multiple swipes in multiple directions to make it smooth and shiny…

Healthy food rocks. I read posts of folks starving all the time, but when I look in the open logs I see "Doritos" or "Cracker with peanut butter". /sigh. I'm not kidding, start watching. Meanwhile I'm eating twice as much as I ever ate in my life on a deficit, daily ice cream included. You got the right idea, divide it…

Hey - you're not alone and almost the exact same numbers. Extremely slow pace breaking 200 lbs after destroying weight for months. I feel like it's a battle for every ounce from here on out and it's been going on for several weeks. I'm changing up my exercise routine now to try to shock my body out of this, but everything…

I take a completely different approach, I eat. I save some calories for this, cause I'm going to do it - there's no escape. So I have a stockpile of oranges, grapefruit, berries, pears, apples, Greek yogurt, etc... When it really gets bad I reach for a protein bar, usually one of those chocolate ones. Itch scratched every…

My heart started racing just reading this, like some bad dream. An amazing job, congrats!

You're one of the lucky ones. Clean shaves for us bears last about 2 hours max, and the beards don't just stop on our faces but fill in every inch of our bodies. Cursed. Then you hit 40 and get even more hair, but the dang hair on our heads starts to thin forcing us to shave them clean as a babies bottom. So then you have…

47 lbs in 5 months. I've swapped calorie goals several times for various reasons, but the weight loss hasn't been constant - stopping for a week or three then accelerating downwards in days, rinse and repeat. I've been trying to figure it out. It's a mystery.

You look amazing! Congrats! When you hit a plateau, what did you do to overcome it? Any idea of the cause? How long did it last? Thanks for any answers - I'm trying to understand these motivation killers better and stop my knee jerk reactions.

I thought about doing them, but don't think it's a good strategy for me. Not controlling food intake is what got me here to begin with, I feel like I need a target. That said - I'll absolutely put the calorie calculators away on Thanksgiving and Christmas, eat whatever and however I want, not think twice about gaining 10…

Mon though Fri - 30-60 minutes of cardio (rowing/elliptical) Mon/Wed/Fri - weights (different groups usually 30 min+) Sat - 3 to 6 hours of walking or other non gym activity

Everything is trying to sabotage you, it's not a conspiracy it's the "norm". And you look awesome. :) I was called "skinny" twice yesterday by different folks, but am 3 lbs still in the "obese" range. Wonder what they'll say when I hit target. Guess I'll be called anorexic. It's just a matter of perspective, I'm surrounded…

But.... I don't want to eat garbage... I sure hope my previous efforts aren't in vain. Don't think I had any, but this post is really making me think I might of secretly had some as I was eating all that ice cream. Explains a lot as to why that effort failed. My brain hurts now. I'm logging my reading of this post as…

Diet to lose weight, fit the workouts in however you can. You don't need a gym at all, there's an amazing amount of exercises you can do without a single piece of gear. I bet there's ways to work some exercise into the playtime or other home activities. Get creative!

My own experience makes me think: once an emotional eater, always an emotional eater. You can try to convince yourself you're not, or accept it. I'm an emotional eater, usually associated with stress. I get that hopeless feeling, dwell on it, then dismiss everything and go dig for junk food. So get the junk out and…

That's a huge change. You're looking sharp! Congrats!

For this reason alone, they're worth every penny.

One beer doesn't mean you have to drink a six pack. Don't stress about it, it's nothing at all. If you're not on a plan for the day, at least identify the amount of calories in everything before you eat it. Doing this forces your brain to see the "value to cost factor" of different foods.

In my profile I wrote: I'm in training to become a world class Olympic athlete and break world records in the 2020 games. I also want to use my athletic ability to become a professional mercenary sponsored by the United States. Sorta like Rambo, but only using elliptical and row machine powers to fight the enemy. In a…

Actually reading this took energy out of me. You're not a professional planner are you? I find it more exciting just to fake my way through this and act like I know what I'm doing. Seems to work. For me it's all about balancing the right amount of calories to sustain weight loss without interfering with workouts. Sleep,…

It's a milestone, don't forget it! Congrats!

Wise. Despite all my smarts, it's my wife that has the wisdom in the family. Wanted to be a scientist, but settled on programming guru and part time star gazing.
