My 93 year old dad passed away Thursday afternoon. Unexpectedly given his recent bout of good health. I missed seeing him before he passed by 10 minutes. Entered ER room as nurse was turning off the monitors. Making arrangements. Family dynamics to deal with. I’ll post again later. Exhausted.

Our temperatures are nothing like most of you are having. We suffer the long, snowy winters for the mild summers. It is unusual for temperatures to reach 90 ... most summer days are closer to low 80s Still, we have air-conditioning for those few days that are unbearable. The AC is on today because the humidity is…

Clothes ... I dread clothes shopping. So when I find something that I like I buy multiples ... if it's a top, different colors. I'm 5'8, long legs and very short torso ... so it's a challenge. I have done online shopping and only use sites that make the return process easy. Now that I'm retired, I really don't have need…

Gayle ... welcome back! Lisa ... "Monkey Brain" ... just makes me laugh! :D Heather ... resting is when our bodies can focus on healing ... Kay ... yes, yes we can find addresses ... ;) <3 A new scale just arrived on my doorstep today and has the ability to interface with the watch and MFP. I won't be doing all of that,…

Katla ... reposting for you. I am so sorry you and your husband are dealing with a separation while your husband recovers. Having observed both my parents over the last few months while they have been in skilled nursing (separately and at different times), I would encourage you to remain in contact as best you can. Leave…

Margaret ... what are you referring to when you say "plant in your lettuce bowl?" Vegetables ... as a kid I hated them. Now I love most everything except peas and that's really just dependent on preparation and age of the peas. I discovered that carrot tops are really good! Especially if made into a pesto and top roasted…

Thanks! ... to all who commented on my deer/car incident. We have the Ford at our dealership that also has a collision repair shop. Get this. There are 23 cars ahead of us in the collision shop ... ALL are from deer hits. This is really unusual this time of the year ... during rut ... yeah, we expect running deer. There's…

An eventful day here. This morning my husband and I were traveling to my parents on a major interstate. I was driving and traffic was heavy. I had a semi behind me and one coming up along side when a deer ran in front of my Ford Explorer. With an unnatural calm, I slowed the vehicle down to about 40mph and hit the deer.…

Ok, I was 12 pages behind and there's no way I can comment (or remember everything I wanted to comment on). Karen in VA ... There sure isn't a one size fits all answer to dealing with depression, is there? I do not have clinical depression and I've never taken medication for down times. I deal with the circumstances in my…

Pip ... always love to see a black lab sunning himself. No matter how hot it was outside, our old black lab would find the hottest spot and just stretch out in it! Katla ... doctors make recommendations based on what they see and their experience, but no two patients are alike. Talk the doctors' recommendations over with…

Lisa .... You said: "Weighing in on the images conversation reminded me that I need to make sure that I'm using emoticons when I'm talking about serious subjects." My response ... :D :D :D >:) We so need a laugh button. Also, your "luck" at the dentist is exactly the kind of "luck" that I have and what I never look forward…

MaryQueena ... first of all WELCOME! And congratulations for being the first one to "stir the pot" this month! :D Please believe me, this happens frequently. Barbie ... thank you for another month! Flea ... hang in there!! Maybe you're a "never covid." Lanette ... you are an incredible woman with an inordinate amount of inner strength. Well, our pup will eventually be ok... A wound on the front leg is minor, hardly broke the skin. One on the back shoulder is one they can irrigate and clean and let it heal from inside out. But the one on stomach is a pocketed wound that vet suggested we put in a drain so fluids don’t pool and cause an abscess. He will…

I am also very unhappy with my neighbors today. Unprovoked, their Brindle German Shepard came into my yard and attacked my 18mos old chocolate lab. My son was able to physically remove the shepard off of our pup, but still our lab sustained multiple wounds. Son and husband are at the Vet ER. I'm hoping that most of the…
