Thank you, Barbie!

I have been reading and wanting to comment on so many of the conversations but I've been too late ... rats. Katla ... praying all went well and your husband is now in the nursing home where you can visit more easily! Rebecca ... so glad you're getting your digestive system straightened out! And my mind is now a blank.…

DH ... It's generally meant to be shorthand for "Dear Husband." But if the context of the post proves otherwise, it can stand for "@#%@" Husband as well! :D Beth

Happy October! ... I'm just a little late to this month's party. Took me until last night to get through half of September and catch up with all of you today. Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary! ... to all of you who have been celebrating. Carol ... I've been praying for your sister and so glad to see that they believe they…

Heather ... amazing job by both Edie and your son! Kelly ... I have to echo Machka's concern ... the return of your "friend" warrants a visit with a doctor. I'm going through multiple tests for the exact same reason. KarenVA ... beautiful photo of Nebraska ... Lanette ... I can figure out just about anything when in comes…
-
{Oh Katla} ... I am praying for you and your husband ... Annemarie ... I am praying that the interview goes well with this new person ... finding the right kind of help is so very, very hard ... Karen ... I love your brother's work and I'm excited for him with the new guitar! Waiting until Christmas is going to be…

Sue ... your leg was under the riding mower?? I assume the blades were not engaged. Still, that sounds like a good way to break something. Lanette ... Yay for you on already seeing electric cost savings! I haven't made enough changes yet to see a difference. Pip ... congratulations on finishing your ride and on passing the…

Note to self... too many crackers and salty processed cheese spreads make me unhappy when I get on the scale ...

You’re welcome!

September Goals ... Like Lisa, I've stopped putting numbers on my goals. Lost 3 pounds in August. So the goal will be to be lighter at the end of September. My budget got shot to h@@l this month too, btw. Karen VA ... I do remember your grandson with autism. Wonderful that he is doing well in a brick&mortar school now!…

Pip … I don’t know what the rules say, but I’d like it if you post the link. A “spoiler “ maybe?

Karen … I love the Poppies! And so glad your downsizing and donating is going so well. Beth

Barbie ... Thank you for the new thread! Beth near Buffalo

Stevia ... did I mention this already? I tried to make a lower carb version of peanut butter cookies for my husband and they were a fail. I can't get over the after-taste of the stevia and they upset my stomach. He seems to like them. I'd rather go without a cookie and just have the real deal every once in a while. Beth

Kim ... I love ceiling fans too ... All the bedrooms have them as well as the family room. Took one out in the kitchen when we remodeled and have regretted it ever since. Lanette ... girl, you watch where you're putting those hands!! :D :D >:) Beth near Buffalo

Katla ... I am so sorry to hear that your doctor has revoked your license. It is never easy to be told that we "can't" do something anymore. I hear your frustration and know that this is a hard thing to swallow. Like Flea, I want you to know that we care very much about you and how you're feeling. Beth near Buffalo

Kim ... once again I am in awe of your industriousness ...your energy saving ideas are fantastic! I have no problem keeping things on the cooler side in the winter ... but my husband is not in agreement so I often find the thermostat set way too high for my liking. The AC is often turned on by our son who is significantly…

Annie ... that kind of fraud stuff just infuriates me. At the moment we are trying to figure out which settings are not deleting emails off of my mother's iPad. I delete them from the main website everyday, but somehow they still show up on the iPad...and they're confusing to her as most of it is pure spam! I just want her…

Katla ... Why is your daughter taking your care for herself? Is she borrowing the car for errands or has she made the decision that you shouldn't be driving anymore. A hard conversation in your future I'm afraid. Praying. Beth near Buffalo

Karen ... but here's some advice ... if you have decided to keep your mother's upper denture because it was lined in silver ... please take care of that yourself. I'm finding some mighty odd things. :# Beth

Karen ... the piles of cards and letters and stuff is overwhelming. For my mother, in terms of nostalgic paper things, I'm only keeping those items that seem to have a pattern for her. Like she kept the last several years worth of cards for two specific people. She kept a year's worth of my letters from when I was in…

Karen … thank you. I’m just putting my grief and tiredness on hold… it will be waiting for me when the dust settles. I’m also working quickly through my parents’ files and papers. When we moved them at Christmas we didn’t unpack files cabinets or drawers… everything moved as is. But now it’s my husband and son putting…

Welcome ... to the new ladies! You have found a wonderfully supportive group. There were so many things I wanted to comment on, but I'm reading without the benefit of writing things down so I've forgotten most of it. Remarrying ... my husband is healthy, but I've thought about this before. I would not be inclined to…

I am only on page 28 so will have to catch up later. My 91 yr old mom has fallen again and has now broken her other hip and dominant wrist. She's having surgery tomorrow morning ... the second major surgery in 6 months. Hard to say what the next few days will bring. Should she do well with the surgery, we'll need skilled…

Carol … cashews, crackers and cookies… the exact items I binged on the other night. I’m not buying any more…. Beth

Kay ... I am in agreement that the funeral home may have been at fault, or at the very least, did not push hard enough. Our obituary didn't run in the paper on the day needed for visitation either, so no one other than family really knew about my Dad's death. We ended up having the obit run on the day of the service (free)…

Kim: Happy Belated Birthday! Katla: I am glad you are near your family and your husband is getting great care. Change is difficult even at the best of times and you should be very proud of how well you are handling all of these new developments. Rebecca: I am so very sorry for your sister's loss ... out-of-order,…

My 93 year old dad passed away Thursday afternoon. Unexpectedly given his recent bout of good health. I missed seeing him before he passed by 10 minutes. Entered ER room as nurse was turning off the monitors. Making arrangements. Family dynamics to deal with. I’ll post again later. Exhausted.

Kelly ... so thankful you are ok! Wake-up calls are never fun ... Rita ... sorry you had such a stressful day with stupid people, but glad your medical appointments have been going well... Barbie ... I always over-worry when people are scheduled to come to my home Katla ... I'm so sorry you are going through difficult…
