  • Kay ... so sorry to hear your dad fell! Praying the short-term rehab is beneficial and he can soon be home again. Beth
  • Heather ... so very sorry to hear about your friend, her sister and now departed BIL. There are no words. Beth
  • Rebecca ... your Arizona canyon formation is going in the right direction! Yay you!! Welcome ... to all the new ladies. I'm 59. Today was my first official day retired (I'd been on disability the last few months due to a broken leg). I'm married (husband is also retired), have one son, 24, who lives at home and one son who…
  • Happy New Year ... love and blessing to all of you and your families! Alexandra and Paula ... Welcome! Barbie ... thank you for another year of starting us off right! Flea ... love Augustine's writings. I've been reading through the Bible for several years now ... always find comfort and peace there. Barbara ... the word…
  • Having mixed feelings. Looking forward to a new year, but my heart is forever tied to this one.
  • Allie ... praying all goes well for your daughter! Tracey ... I love the mugs and like Heather I don't know how that is done ... Both mine and my husband's covid tests are currently negative! However, we're breathing the same air as our covid positive son. He's pretty much staying to himself, but it will be a miracle if we…
  • Ack! … my son who lives with us is sick and tested positive for Covid. (Two coworkers positive as well). My husband hasn’t felt well since Sunday and I’m pretty much asymptomatic at this point but both my husband and I have testing appointments tomorrow. We have all had boosters so hoping they keep this in check. I am so…
  • Pip ... in the one photo there appears to be two adults who are twins? They're each on opposite sides of the photo... or are they father and son? Evelyn ... your bead work is lovely ... particularly drawn to the angel Rebecca ... I like the apron! Katla ... so glad you were able to upload the photo ... lovely Christmas…
  • Heather ... those are beautiful photos! I especially like the one you took today. Kay ... We have been very busy this past week I finished putting up the Christmas tree today. Went to church. Did some cleaning. I'm exhausted. I will be at my mom's Wednesday for the move and Thursday as well. Beth near Buffalo
  • Kelly ... congratulations on another beautiful grandson!
  • Barbara ... there's is no doubt that Cecil responds to food/treats. It's the only way I've had any success so far. Thank you for sharing that information. Kim ... I like the gardening theme. There's a lot you could do with embroidery too ... beauty on one side, mess on the other thing. Threads of your life being pulled,…
  • Terri ... good luck with your procedure! Barbie ...thank you for starting the new month. I don't remember my November goals, but I'm pretty certain I just didn't want to gain weight while recuperating from my leg break. Today I weighed myself proper and I am down 2 pounds. I'll take it. December goals are to regain full…
  • Mary ... Cool! Kim ... I agree the pup is not getting enough exercise! As for rehoming Cecil, my son is not willing to entertain the idea at this time. And he's right, Cecil's behavior is, in large part, due to our lack of consistency. So we'll work with him for awhile. Received news today that my dad has now tested…
  • Kelly ... thank you for this! I bust out laughing! Beth
  • Cecil is a beautiful dog who just turned one year of age. But I think all of your comments are spot on. Lisa ... I've made the comment multiple times to my son that the dog is too smart and too bored. We'll see what the next couple of weeks bring. Ultimately, we need to make the best decision for the dog.
  • Kelly ... I would be mad at my husband too, but your son wasn't thinking either ... Praying your exposure doesn't result in illness. Tracey and Machka ... love the photos! Julie ...hope this will be a better week for you ... Vicki ... I still send Christmas cards too. For years I wrote a "Christmas Letter" but haven't in…
  • Pip ... of course your rest scores are good ... you're retired and living easy! Debbie ... I have spoiled my family over the years and they had no idea how much I was doing until I broke my leg. Yes, I still tried to do a lot even with the broken leg, but I couldn't get to the laundry, I couldn't shop, I couldn't take care…
  • Kelly ... yes, yes you can! Lisa ... glad your procedure is over! Allie ... this is the second time you've mentioned how well you sleep in a hotel bed ... which I find astonishing as I can never sleep in an unfamiliar bed. You need to discover what is different about hotel rooms/beds and duplicate it at home. Karen VA ...…
  • This is where my close circle of friends and my church really rose up for the occasion. Both when my son died and when I first broke my leg, a "meal schedule" was established by the church.. For the first 2-3 weeks of each event I had people bring meals every 2-3 days. At the time of my son's death, we were not allowed to…
  • Kelly ... the old incandescent lights can be quite expensive to operate but the new LED lights are around 80-90% less expensive...worth the cost of replacement in some cases depending on how many strings you use. My Stromboli was "meh" ... didn't like the pizza dough recipe I used.
  • Gray day here, but we'll watch some football and I'm baking homemade Stromboli for dinner. I'm debating whether to send one of the guys over the hill for provolone cheese that I forgot or whether I can just use extra mozzarella. Spoke with my mom last night and convinced her she needs to let me talk to the medical…
  • Kim ... No, no and no. My dad wears hearing aides and probably is the best out of the 3 of us but he's not any shape to communicate well. My mom refuses to believe she is hard of hearing and she definitely is! I really don't know Katla ... good to see you found us again! Enjoy your time with the new baby when you are…
  • Annie …Happy Birthday! Heather … Happy Anniversary! We traveled to Cleveland on Wednesday and were able to take my mom to the hospital to see my dad. Unfortunately Covid rules prevented me from seeing him as I couldn’t push my moms wheelchair and manage my walker. My husband was allowed to visit as he became the designated…
  • Vicki ... so sorry to hear of your son-in-law's death. Allie ... this must be so incredibly difficult. Carmine/Taliah is lucky to have you for a grandma. Rita ... hugs ... Rebecca ... hope the transportation snafus are working themselves out and you are soon with your family. Flea ... so very glad to hear that your surgery…
  • Sue of WA ... the process of dying/death seems unending. My son, while legally a medical dependent, was financially independent and he died without a will. What a debacle. It should not be so difficult. Sue of TX ... glad you found us ... sorry to hear you've had vaccination problems. Kellee ... I have re-committed to…
  • Karen ... that's fantastic news about the house! Annie ... my phone, out of the blue, decided not to recognize it's SIM card which meant I couldn't get cellular, couldn't use it as a phone really. I did everything suggested by online support but ended up taking it into the Verizon store. They took care of it 1-2-3.…
  • Kim … I just found some! Thanks for thinking of me though. Beth
  • Pip ... congratulations on your run! Those are fantastic stats. I've yet to see the Grand Canyon and I'm enjoying your photos. Vicki ... so very sorry to hear about your slipped disc. It makes my insides hurt when I hear someone say "something slipped." Praying that your back pain can be reduced without surgery. Heather…
