Congratulations on hurdling the biggest task, now you're on the downhill side - you know what you've got to do to get where you want to be! Keep up the good work!

In my opinion, a weight loss plan always fails when it's used as a temporary solution. Like so many fad diets - it's do this really stupid, crazy exercise or drink this vile concoction for a week and you'll instantly be "high school skinny". Bah. Top 3: 1. Unrealistic expectations - thinking the weight that was gained in 2…

This may be TMI, but if you're worried about your water intake - just watch your urine color. If it's darker than light lemonade (watch your first morning urine, it's normally your darkest), it means it's concentrated and you need to drink some water - as long as it is slightly tinted to the light lemonade color, you are…

No, there are far better choices than Slim Fast - it's nothing but hidden calories and loaded with unnecessary sugars and carbs. If you are needing to still use a supplement for snacking, look for protein bars that are more natural and have a lot less sugar. High protein, low carb, and no added sugar is your best bet to…

Hello. I'm 29, soon to be 30! I'm married w/ 2 step children - currently unable to have any of my own. I started out with 170 lbs to lose - I've currently lost 23. I gained 150 lbs over the last 10 years, lost 90 lbs at one point, then put it all back on. I'm definitely here for encouragment and advice.

Added you! And Congrats on the weight loss so far!

I've actually never heard of them, but found this when I googled.... http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/products/p/shiratakinoodle.htm

Well, first off - GREAT JOB!! My pants must be have been holding on for dear life because my pants still fit for the most part - I've only had to toss one pair that just looked ridiculous. However, I am back into a few pairs that I had hung in the back of my closet because they had been too tight or didn't zip up. I can…

I almost always sit down in the tub because I use alot of scrubs and soaks to detox and wear mud masks on my face frequently. If I am actually "dirty" like I've sweat all day or I've been cleaning the house or working outside, yes I shower first because that's disgusting, but if all I've done all day is sit around the…

Sounds like your body is saying enough....I used to have IBS-type symptoms with certain seasonings, raw/under cooked carrots, and corn. Now that I am eating healthier, I don't have any issues with carrots or seasonings, but I still stay away from corn. (I was once told that I was allergic to corn, yet ate the stuff and…

You're welcome to add me! The more friends the merrier! Motivation is key and I like to have people to share my day with.

I have definitely stuck with my initial motivation. I've started this journey many times before, but as soon as I hit a stressful point or someone tempted me, I was done. Like today for instance, any other time I would have ended up in a fast food line or standing in front of a vending machine, especially since I have $1's…

Congratulations - I'm only a couple days behind you! I feel like it's a complete game changer being on here daily...honestly, I'm normally logged on all day - if I'm bored, I scroll through here and read or write....before I would snack or sit and think I was hungry, now I'm very content with staying with what I have…

Completely AWESOME!!! I can't wait until I'm taking the same photos!!!

I read this the other day: Your body keeps an accurate record of your food and exercise, regardless of what you write down. [/quote] I love this quote...I will have to steal this and keep as a reminder!!

I agree with pretty much everyone else - there are 2 things that must be happening... 1. You're underestimating the portion size and consuming more calories than you think 2. You're actually not eating enough and your body is in storage mode. I would weigh and measure out all of your portions and see if that helps first.…

Basically, white breads are generally full of simple carbs like sugar. Wheat & whole grains are better because of the amount of dietary fiber in them (complex carbs).
-
Simple carbs are not the best; aim for complex carbs - basically the stuff that has dietary fiber in it - helps with digestion. But, bread is not evil - MODERATION!! is always key!
-
Completely awesome...I too have PCOS and have been told I'll never have kids...it's one of the many reasons I am here.
-
You're doing an excellent job - keep up the good work because you deserve it!!

I'm sort of scared of heights, but not for the normal reason - I'm not scared it will hurt if I fall, I'm scared of not being in control while falling. I'm also ridiculously weirded out by bunnies....the reason....their nose is too soft. ??? o.O Yea, don't ask... I freak out if anyone opens a can without cleaning the lid…
-
Completely awesome...Hadn't thought about it, but when I go to the store next I'm going to pick me up a "Dream Pair" of pants - THANKS for the inspiration!!
-
There is most definitely a difference....like everyone has said, and not to sound like a broken record - don't be so hard on yourself - 38 lbs is 38 lbs; be proud, not discouraged!

Get a new boyfriend because obviously he doesn't care enough about you to have your well-being in mind.

First, before you try any machines, decide what you really want to do - are you toning your legs, your back, your legs, a combination? Once you've done that, seek out the style/type of machine you will need to use - most machines at the gym have graphics showing which muscles they utilize. You won't look stupid by reading…

I've always been told that the safest is to start by going 500 calories less than you are used to consuming when starting weight loss. If you were gaining at 2300+, If I were you, I would set myself around 1800 calories and see what happens.
-
Good luck!!! This site really makes it easy - I've tried different things along the way, but this is the most fun!

Hello, I have been on my life style change since July, but this is my 3rd day here. When I started my journey, I had 170 lbs to lose. Now I just have a little over 150 to lose!! Love to share recipes and swap knowledge and ideas. Feel free to add me! Hannah

Generally, men should not consume less than 1,500 calories per day. Depending on your activity level, you should be eating between 2,000-3,000 calories a day for your age range. How many calories were you eating before you started trying to lose weight?

From what I have been reading in my research about sugar intake, a 50g. daily intake is healthy for a woman. Just continue to choose natural sugar sources, aka fruit, instead of processed sugar, and you shouldn't have any issues.
