MFP bases your weight loss goals off the top. Your calorie goal, aka your NET calorie goal is what you want to be at come the end of the day. If your goal is 1440, you need to be at 1440 NET calories to assume that 2 lbs per week (or whatever you set your goal as). This is marked as healthy weight loss. If you're dropping…

I'm 6'1 and 248. My calorie goal for 2 lbs per week is 1710. Dang.

I eat my meals before. I easily get 2x the energy and results from the work out than if I wait until after.

I decided to change my life the day I got married. I made a plan to quit smoking, give myself 4 months to recoup, then start losing weight. Got married October 1st and haven't touched a cigarette since. Some say that people can't "just quit", but it's a willpower choice that you have to make. No one "needs" gum or patches,…

The problem is that you're ignorant in your calorie goal structure. Obviously you don't understand what MFP is doing, and you create your own theories to suit that ignorance. If your goal is to lose 2 lbs per week, and you have set MFP to reflect that, then YES, you eat your exercise calories back. Let's dumb this down so…

You're not going to just fall into "Starvation Mode" by taking in less calories that is listed for you. It's not something that just happens out of the blue, but instead takes weeks of very low intake. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/175608-starvation-mode-is-a-myth-the-science If you're losing weight, I'd stick…
