  • That's what I'm dreading. :*(
  • I've heard this a lot, so it will definitely be on the top of my mind. Hopefully with all this preparation, it will rarely come about. Now the wife, she may get peed on a bit more often. All I can do is laugh.
  • I gotta stay open-minded towards everything now I suppose. It's definitely a good idea and I'll have to look into it around my area. Thanks for the tip!
  • Really? I'd think it would feel a bit weird to be a dad surrounded by moms in a playgroup. While they're all talking about breastfeeding and whatnot, I'd be nervously twiddling my thumbs looking for an escape.
  • I appreciate all the replies. Luckily (or pathetically), I have plenty of experience with mmo games, thus sleep deprivation comes naturally. (Nothing like staying up till 3am trying to kill dragons) It's just man-handling a small baby that really scares me. I've told the wife that I'm not touching baby socks. I'm afraid…
  • 6'2 230.4 lbs 1590 calories. I feel fantastic. I don't believe MFP accounts for your extreme workouts, so you may want to factor that into your goals. I have a regular routine, and in-taking 1590 net after eating back the exercise calories has me feeling great.
  • Try staggering your calories. Read: Have a cheat day once a week. I was plateaued for about 2 weeks, until I binged on a full pizza and 12 pack of beer one night with the guys. I lost 3 lbs the next day, and have been dropping daily on my normal, healthier diet.
  • I'm going to binge tomorrow night on beer. Probably about 1,150 calories worth. Stuff happens. Enjoy it, and start again the next day. 1 day won't kill your weight loss goals. A treat is a treat. :D
  • We can spy on you and secretly criticize what you eat as a group while you're not online.
  • Back then, you changed and learned to make a marriage work. Now, you "be yourself" and just "search for your soul mate.....again" if you don't do it right the first time. I cringe every time I hear people suggest to others they break up and start over again. It seems that's what our culture idolizes, the heartbroken who're…
  • Saying it "as it is" is great if you're trying to "keep it real" or "put on a front", but it doesn't work in relationships. "As it is" implies your statements are blunt and without compassion. I'd be frustrated too. Relationships need compromise and communication. I think you'd both be better off taking a day to examine…
  • Stop bringing it to your lips. Simple. Willpower.
  • If you're not hungry, then dont eat. That just makes sense. Keep your calories above 1200 per day though. If you're eating nothing but celery all day and complaining that you can't hit your calorie mark, that won't work either. Get all your nutrients, vitamins, and daily recommended food groups in, and you shouldn't have…

  • Biggest help: Make it a lifestyle change, instead of result-driven. Eat right, exercise, be healthy - for you, not for the weight loss. Results will follow.
  • SUPPORT GRANTED! My buddies still come over with pizza and beer, just in case I was tired of this whole "losing weight" thing. ...And boy, do I love me some cheese, hot sauce, and hops. Just gotta focus big picture. The faster you slim down, the sooner you can enjoy a "maintaining" calorie limit.
  • Doing better than me. Down 9 lbs and I think the wife just says she notices to make me feel better. :D

  • That's not bad at all. I regularly include 2 eggs, some OJ, and by then I'm already up to 270. If I throw in a bagel, that doubles it. I think it's more about planning out your day. If you want to have a larger breakfast, go for it, but keep your remaining calories in check for the day's remainder. ...Or work harder to…
  • It's fairly simple. Forget all the social standards weighing down your shoulders about his finances, job, etc. Do you like him? Easy question. If you do, have fun with it. You're young and this isn't marriage. If he's an embarrassment to you, then he always will be. If you're just reaching out for affection, then Mr.…
  • I think it was more of a "we worked together, he enjoyed being here, and he'd want us to continue selling these burgers" ordeal.
  • Simple matter is that people have free will. Why do people patron the restaurant? Because they want to. The business is not to blame, nor the owner. Isn't this what's great about America? The freedom to build upon your dreams and have an equal shot at success. It creates an opportunity for those who like it to eat there,…
  • haha. I got a nice laugh out of this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bump_%28Internet%29 To bump a thread on an internet forum is to post a reply to it purely in order to raise the thread's profile. This will typically return it to the top of the list of active threads.
  • Seasoned Tilapia. Almost better than steak.
  • I've noticed that a lot of people have come to this site to start losing weight, mostly because they couldn't do it on their own. They create posts telling others how MFP's program is wrong, how their personal method is right, and how others should adapt it as well. --If it is so great, why are these people coming to this…
  • "A natural flavor is not necessarily healthier or purer than an artificial one. When almond flavor (benzaldehyde) is derived from natural sources, such as peach and apricot pits, it contains traces of hydrogen cyanide, a deadly poison. Benzaldehyde derived through a different process - by mixing oil of clove and the banana…
  • No food will have an impact on specific body-area fat loss. Where fat settles is all in the genetics.
  • I think the answer considers humans of our society in general, not individuals - Thus giving us all the same paragraph response.
  • The point of exercising is to boost your metabolism and increase muscle mass while burning fat; Both of which eat away at your fat storage on their own. You eat back your calories so that you aren't struck with undernourishment. You're training your body the ideals that A. food isn't a rarity in your lifestyle, so there's…
  • I, for one, enjoy them. Keeps me going through the last 15 minutes of my run. :drinker: Keep it up, ladies!
  • If it's nutrition label has zero's across the board, log it as water. If it has vitamins, sodium, sugars, etc etc, log it so you can keep track of that stuff. If anything, having it not count as "water" will get you into the habit of drinking said "water"
