My HM is at the end of August - first ever! im new to running, doing my first half in august so interested in the replies you get, but I have been advised to do at least one run close to the full distance so you have a really good idea of how your body is going to go with it and help you set your pace etc

mine seems to hover up and down a lot before dropping each time, but I only ever log a true weight loss - sometimes I re weigh a few days later to make sure it really has dropped before I log it as a lost but I was wondering if tahts what others do as well - thanks

I agree with the majority here, the whole point of MFP is to do it the health long lasting way.... ..so why does MFP allow the ads that offer these so-called miracle cures..theres on now 'lose 11kg in 3 weeks' and an add for phenetermine was just on??

Hi, Im training for my first HM in August. I couldnt run longer than 50 metres in January and today did 13km in 90 mins - not the fastest but I ran the whole time and didnt find it too taxing. Being Australian we have a lot of 90+F days and I love running in the early evening in it - much better than being stuck inside on teh treadmill like I a m now because its dark - I love the feeling of running outside on a hot day

I do - every morning since starting my new routine...Ive found it helps start my water consumption for the day and Ive heard it helps get your metabolism started but Im not sure thats a fact. But I have been told to rinse staright after it as the acid is bad for your tooth enamel.

Thanks Adman..Im so close to breaking that 30min on my hill 5km run....time to start concentrating on the 10km time...doubt I will ever catch your times though... but the competition in it will keep me going:laugh:

Definately agree with the running club idea.. I run on my own all week but run with a beginners running group on sunday mornings and they have definately got me to the 10km point this quickly..it helps push you to distances you wouldnt consider doing yourself..along with giving lots of good advice and tips and meeting new…
