There isn't a line you step over, they're flowing into eachother. Could you explain what you're feeling?

Water fasts work, just as well as any other way of lowering your energy balance by some 2000-2500 calories. If you want to go that route then by all means do it. You can slow down muscle loss by adding essential amino acids in sufficient amounts, but if you're aiming at less than 0.5g protein per pound of bodyweight don't…

Calories are a measure of energy. The body uses energy in order to function, as well as for everything you do, including getting up out of bed, walking around and getting dressed. The amount of energy used for things like breathing, keeping your temperature at 37C and so on is called your Base Metabolic Rate, or BMR. This…

Did you weigh it with skin? Weigh it without Still, you can most likely change the unit from 1 serving to 1g, and enter "90".

This article says you're likely to eat more when you eat sugar, not that it affects fat burning.
-
People tend to underestimate how much they eat by 50% (yes, I can show you the trial reports), even when keeping a diary and knowing they're monitored. Either you need to go see a doctor to have your energy expenditure actually measured (since it MAY be low, even though it's a microscopic percentage of people who has…

Canned witty responses makes you look lame. Just tune them out and go "uh-huh" every now and then.
-
They need to be raw, of course. 811 4 life!

First of all, you can't "jump start your metabolism". It only shuts down when you're starving to death, which brings me to my second point; the body doesn't start to act like it's starving because you don't feed it for 12 hours or so. It takes A LONG time for fasting to have any effect on you metabolism. You could skip…

Apart from the obvious (natural sweeteners has serious side effects too, but we're used to them) that article has it about right. Just doesn't answer the original question ;)

Dude, you're an idiot. Stop it, you're not even funny.

+1. Good to find someone on these forums who actually has some sense.

I know sugar is carbs, it's half fructose and half glucose, and has a fairly low GI of ~80. Compared to glucose it's quite bad for replenishing your glycogen, as you have to mix it with about twice as much water in order to make it isotone. I would say I have more than a general idea about nutrition, and I know quite well…
-
Well, because you can eat more if you do. Eating things, goood.
-
No. Carbs (not sugar, which isn't very good with it's low GI) are needed for the muscles to do work, not to stop them from wasting. Protein does that.
-
Your friend is an idiot. Eating regularly can help control hunger by stabilizing your blood sugar levels, but if you don't have a problem with that it doesn't matter when you eat.
-
I was grumpy this morning, but now it's all better. Thank you!

Crossfit is a "brand" pretty much. It's branded circuit training, and you can do circuit training with bodyweight only with no problems at all. You could for example get the Sworkit app for your phone, or check any WOD (workout of the day) on any crossfit/circuit training website.
-
You look better than most girls I know :D
-
First of all; no, it's not a cult. The people who raves and raves about it are simply the types of people who raves. Second: If the instructor compares SL5x5 to crossfit she's the type of person who raves. Yes, both programs are about whole-body conditioning, but that's where the similarities end. You could compare SL5x5…

A week is no time at all. You'll need to go on for at least a month before you can draw any kind of conclusion, especially if you're female. The body will retain different amounts of water depending on what you eat, and your intestines will contain different amounts of junk depending on what you've eaten. Calories in,…

I should be able to counter the acid by mixing them with a pound of sugar, right?
-
Ouch, hello kidney stones!

I'd need to eat 6400kcal/day in order to get enough fat not to mess up my metabolism. Crazy bulk, but I suppose it could work... :D
-
Question: Are we talking percentage of mass or energy here?
-
Yessss!!! Lift heavy things, eat well and you'll start looking awesome! Thing is, by being heavy, you have an advantage in the lifting department as you're already set up for optimal muscle building :) Use it!

Those owls are friggin' adorable! Remember, no matter what you eat, you need to work out. Like this!
-
Once more, for emphasis: this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

3 minutes a week? Wasn't the regimen for 20 minutes of 8/12 sec intervals a day?
