First time posting here and first time doing the challenge. I need more community support as the darkness descends over the PNW. My goal 40 miles this month. 13 miles to date. Better get going.

Hi everyone, I am 49 years old and have gained weight the last couple of years. I would like to lose 30 lbs without losing muscle or starving myself. It always helps when I feel a sense of community, so I look forward to connecting with people here.

How about walking stairs? I take the stairs up to the 6th floor where my office is...just avoiding the elevator helps

I read this book and enjoyed it but feel the way Caitwn does - that NROL for Women is my fave. I also have NROL for Life since I am interested in staying fit as I get older. So true that that more muscle I have the easier weight loss is for me.

Hi all. I am finishing week 1 today. I have done C25K several times and used to be able to run 1/2 marathon distance. Will check in here to stay accountable and motivated :-)

Hi - nice work! Sounds like you are making good progress - as someone who has been injured from ramping up the running too quickly, I suggest you take it slow and be kind to yourself. Running at a 2% incline is not necessary in my opinion, also slow down. If you are running on the treadmill at 4.2 take it down to…

Hi I am new to this challenge - and back to running after rehabbing for 2 years from an injury. My May goal is 35 miles. I am running 3 miles on mother's day - the longest I have run in a number of years and I am so excited.

I used to do kettlebells at Crossfit before I hurt my foot.

Great workouts everyone - I have tried all of them including the kettlebells :-) Currently, I strength train 3x a week with a trainer (30 minute sessions) and then run 3x a week. This is after 2 years of barely being able to walk. Amazing progress after many false starts.

This week is the final week of a training plan that has gotten me to run for 30 minutes straight - after 2 years of not being able to run due to injury. This is huge for me and on Sunday I will run a 5k for mothers day.

What a good group!

Hi - I am 45 and a mom of a 4.5 year old daughter. I work in a stressful job and after hurting my foot 2 years ago I have gained 30 lbs. I am just now getting back to being able to run-walk. To make matters worse my husband is uber-thin and can eat whatever he wants. He is an ultra-runner and very fit. I am working on not…

Thanks Erinleigh13!

Hi again, so should we create a group? I notice a lot of the 40 something groups are not active

Hi I am 45 and a mom of a 4.5 year old. I am heavier than I have ever been and in a stressful job. I would love to find a community here because without one I tend to track my food only every few days.

Hi..you might not be eating enough calories. There are a number of posts on here and google about BMR and eating more to weigh less. The idea is that your body thinks it is starving and so stores fat to keep you alive... I am new to all this and I have gotten frustrated with low calorie diets...so I try to eat a few…
