Since chickens are a living thing, their body composition will not be exactly the same from chicken to chicken. So, animals of different breeds, or from different farms, or who've been fed different diets, may differ somewhat in their composition. Also, the sources you're checking may have different portion sizes.

Yes. You don't even need to take the Fitbit off as long as you note the time you begin and end the workout. Then you can replace that time period with the info from the HRM and overwrite the Fitbit for that time period.

Copycat.

Since the Fitbit does not sync with a HRM, any brand you choose should be fine. I use a Zephyr chest strap which connects to my phone and syncs with several different apps like Runkeeper and iCardio. I love it because it records and stores a great deal of info and feeds my calorie burn into MFP through Runkeeper.

I had a KFC Double Down on the way home from the gym. I had a giant salad for dinner and still have about 250 cals left. Eat the foods. Eat all the foods you're supposed to eat.

A good beginner's program is Strong Lifts. You can get the app free on your phone. It's simple, doesn't take long, and you can get amazing results.
-
I prefer free weights, as the machines only move in one direction, so they aren't working your core or stabilizers. However, free weights can be daunting and even dangerous without a spotter. I would invest in at least one good reference book...The New Rules of Lifting for Women is a good one that a lot of us follow, and…

So this KFC DoubleDown counts, right? I just want to eat lentils and have the protein grams count as protein without having to worry about adding things to it.

One day isn't going to undo all your progress. Shake it off, mark it up to a learning experience, and prepare yourself better for next time: Try looking up nutritional info at a few fast food places, make a list of acceptable items and keep it with you. If you have a memo app in your phone, that's a good place for it.…

MFP's program is set up to eat back exercise calories and use net calories for the day as your goal. However, that being said, the fact is that most people underestimate their caloric intake, and MFP itself overestimates calories burned during most exercises. So, unless you're measuring and logging every single gram you…

Hummus and whole grain chips. Pickle and nut butter sandwich. Glass of wine.
-
Laughing Cow cheese and chili. Cheese and broccoli. Cheese and bacon.

Someone just mentioned complete proteins to me the other day. This is good news, though, because I love to eat lentils, and it would be difficult to track protein if the lentil protein somehow didn't count, or only counted when eaten with rice or whatever. Can you imagine that nightmare?
-
No need to give up the shakes. Just track everything and eat at a slight deficit until the weight is gone.

I weight every day, but more because I'm figuring out my new scale. I've had this Omron scale for a couple of weeks, and it does body fat %, skeletal muscle %, resting metabolism, body age, etc. so it's interesting to watch the fluctuations and try to figure out why. I'm sure it's largely due to hydration levels, but…
-
Just make sure you dilute it well. That stuff will dissolve the enamel from your teeth, not to mention what it will do to your organs.
-
Why don't you want to set it at what MFP suggests?
-
Dude. It's your birthday. Seriously...have your burger, and wash it down with some cake and ice cream! As long as you aren't dong that every day, or even every week, then you're fine. You can't undo 60lbs of hard work with one meal. Also, 1200 cals? You might want to rethink that limit. I'm a 5'3" woman and I eat more than…

Still haven't smoked since March 29. I'm not even taking the Chantix any more. The only time I even think about it is after a good meal or when I walk by someone else smoking.

I've always had plenty of junk in the trunk, but thanks to squats and deadlifts, I am developing a very distict line between *kitten* and leg. My trunk-junk is rounder and higher, and seems to climb up half an inch every week :)

Here's a video which gives you a good idea of how it works. I actually just switched gyms, and this machine was the deciding factor. My thighs are sore all the way around, as well as my glutes, from 30 minutes on this thing...and it's fun, it feels more like dancing or skating than a workout, so if you have some rockin'…

A Junior Frosty is only about 200 cals and is a reasonable portion size. I'm probably too lazy to go through this much trouble when I can just stop by Wendy's and use a bit of self-control.

My awesome boyfriend has used primarily dumbbells at home, plus a punching bag (he does tae kwon do also) and he's made amazing changes in his body according to photos from before we met. If that's what you have access to, then go for it. There are very few moves that require a barbell that you're unable to adjust for…

Then you need to find high-calorie snacks to eat throughout the day in order to meet your calorie requirement. Your caloric goal is not just an upper limit, it's also a goal for you to reach in order to lose weight safely without losing too much muscle or doing your organs harm. You should be hitting as close to your…

Yes, because cutting out the evil that is dietary fat worked so well for us. We still have people afraid to eat bacon or biscuits made with lard. I mean...margarine used to be touted as a health food. I wonder how many THE TRUTH ABOUT FAT documentaries came out back then?
-
There's the source of your confusion, then. What you see with online calculators is an estimated TDEE. What the Fitbit is giving you is your actual TDEE based on how much you, personally, move.
-
Yeah, I'm afraid I sorta let 30DS fall by the wayside...too many things I want to do, and not enough time/energy for all of them. Zombies, Run! and Stronglifts were calling me. But I hope it really works for you guys!
-
But...but...I knew what it was! Are you calling me ugly?!? *harrumph!*

I wish my beloved and I had taken better pics last month when we went to a Steampunk ball. Sorry. :-/ I basically threw together costumes with Goodwill finds and a bit of chain. Here's my Pinterest board on the subject. It has inspiration as well as some DIY how-tos. http://www.pinterest.com/snugglesmacks/steamy-spunk/

I had a really hard time finding one that fit my phone, because it's a Droid Razr Maxx with an Otterbox, making it quite bulky. Finally found one for cheap on Ebay. That and Amazon are the best places to look.
