:( I thought everything was about me! Of course. I don't think the OP was real hurt, I thought she was more looking to the solution to her problem. To answer, IMO, the best solution is likely to be to give him a little time to cool off, then talking with him in a respectful way, I wouldn't want to overreact. Telling…

Kimdbro, I guess I just don't find it's to my benefit in life to be that sensitive. OP, any updates?
-
Overstepped, though? I guess I just don't see where it's that big of a deal. I don't care to have people comment on my diary generally, but it's really not the end of the world if someone does. KWIM? I'd agree with you if the OP had slapped the girl in the face or called her names or something. She said something like…
-
I'm generally not a believer in critiquing diaries. I think usually it seems to be more of a know-it-all thing than a helping thing. I mean, most people KNOW that they should eat an apple instead of French fries, they don't need you to educate them, they just choose the fries anyway. BUT, I think you did the right thing,…

I was on BC really early, because it helps with other things-- for instance regulating your periods. So honestly, I think I'll put my 3 girls on the pill pretty early, with that as the motivation, and reiterate to them that it's not because I expect them to have sex. Also, the fact that the pill only protects from…

I agree with the other posters-- I have a cheat day, but I don't think of it as a "reward," just because I don't want the mentality of rewarding myself with food. But I do believe in the cheat meal/day. Maybe I'd lose 1.1 lb a week instead of 1 lb a week, if I didn't enjoy a bigger meal, but that's not worth it to me. Part…

*I don't think taking time to cool off when you're angry at all fits the parameters of "passive agressive."
-
Well, do you respect him wanting you to be nicer about this, or do you want to be condescending to it? I mean, if I was really sorry, and respected that he didn't want this to be something I laugh about then I'd apologize sincerely (which it sounds like you did), and give him enough time to cool off (which is up to HIM).…

Nevermind, I wish I had more time today, but can't spend much time debating! LOL Honestly, I think getting bent out of shape about this is a perfect example of what people mean when they complain "semantics." No one can deny the cultural and secular 'other side' of Christmas, and I don't see where it's any skin of anyone's…
-
Actually, no, let me put it another way-- am I a bad Christian for putting up a Christmas tree? That is a PAGAN tradition, borrowed by Christians. NOW it has become a cultural thing. Is it OK for me to celebrate that cultural thing, even though I'm not the religion that started it? If a bunch of Pagans got bent out of…
-
Because Christmas has become a cultural event to some, even if it isn't a religious one to them. What I don't get is why it's so bothersome? Why do you care if they call it "Christmas" or "Festivus?" They're not worshiping Christ with it, in that context, and while I DO worship Christ on Christmas, I also celebrate in a…

I just can't look around the US and think that's true, is all. Dispite the name, and the fact that the date is near Christ's SYMBOLIC (not real) birthdate, Christmas is very much a secular celebration, and religious for some folks (like me!). :) That said-- you make a good point in it just being wise form to maybe rename…

I log and eat back my exercise calories, but no way do I count 'the little stuff." I take a short walk, walking the kids to and from school daily, walking around the grocery store, etc, but that's considered in part of your lifestyle. The base metabolic rate (I may be using the wrong term?), or the number MFP gives you as…

No, you were right. I would not let things escalate to yelling, things of that nature, keep calm, and just say only a secular holiday celebration is allowed. Sounds like she walked in wanting a battle-- I'm not sure why, but there are a lot of people in recent years walking around looking for ways to be offended. If you're…

Hope he feels better soon! He has influenza? Chicken soup, any soup & crackers. If it's a stomach bug, vomiting, we stick with crackers, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. Hope he's feeling better soon! (eta: either way, while sick, I eat what comforts me, and if necessary what I feel I can keep down best; calories are not…

Welcome to the boards! I've been BFing for 7 solid years now. Gosh, that sounds funny. LOL NOT all the same kid, don't worry. I started taking extra calories to make up for nursing, but found I didn't need to once solids were real involved, and I just make sure I get lots of water. I used this, too! Good luck to you!

I don't really log and have friends because I want them to critique my eating, so I'm in the MYOB camp. I mean, 99% of us arne't just confused about what's healthy and what's not and waiting for you to clear us up, we just ate poorly anyway, right? LOL But, I've never gone to the effort/known to make my diary private, so…

You're right, and I can't prove it wasn't aliens, either. No proving negatives. But in all seriousness, I do agree with this most recent quote of yours. No, I can't prove it wasn't vaccinations. But I have to weigh the very real benefits with the possible, implied, maybe/someday costs. Still, I know what you're saying, and…

Yes! Wow, that's the opposite of what the video implies, if not outright SAYS. I wonder if the producers influenced that, or if she's just changed her mind? I love the Shred, but I've always also read that you need to let muscles rest to rebuild. BUT, I thought since the Shred was with low-weights, maybe that was why is…
-
I actually don't disagree with THAT statement, but that's not what you said, you implied real clearly that vaccines were the "obvious" change in society, and therefore the reason problems exist that didn't before. Ignoring the fact that new populations were introduced (mixing not only germs, but DNA), new lifestyles &…

The Kindle Fire is more like the Nook Color (or iPad), if you read the other posts for those comparisons. I do have an iPad (backlit), and I sure don't read on it-- it's more for web surfing and my kids play games on it. I read on my (e-ink) Kindle all the time, and sometimes magazines on my iPad, but I'd never really sit…

I have had my Kindle since almost the begining (I did replace it recently, after I dropped it hard, on a tile floor), and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Do not go with a Nook color, unless you plan on using it for not reading primarily. I would go somewhere to try out both the regular Nook (NOT color), & the Kindle. Assuming you're…

I thought the cholesterol in eggs didn't actually contribute to high cholesterol in the body? High cholesterol has never been an issue for me (though I eat a lot of eggs!), so I've never looked to deeply into it, I'm sure someone else knows. And Dr.s generally really aren't that educated on nutrition. :) Anyway, I always…

Thank God. LOL I only watched 2 seconds, but you frankly can't put it past people to use something like that-- look at some of the other responses here. [eta: I mean, really. Someone just told us that the "obvious" difference between pre- & post-European colonized America is the current vaccination program.] Now I just…

If you're looking for the obvious variables, then SURELY you mean the HUGE dietary and lifestyle changes at large that have happened also in that time frame, not to mention the intruduction of new peoples with new genes and new viruses. I'm sorry, but you guys lose me so quickly. I'm pretty hippy. I won't say how long I…
-
That's... not true. I'm fairly hippy myself, but I don't think my immunologist friend who has no personal interest in promoting flu shot manufacturers for any kind of throw-back or anything of that nature is lying to me for no reason. Well, honestly, I was going to look at your info, but a youtube video of a rap isn't…

Can you link to them for me, please? From reliable sources anyway, I have not seen this to be true in any way, so I would want to read that for myself. (that is said flat, no tone, no snark. :) ) As far as "I know a pharmacist, and he/she doesn't like the shot, so there," goes... Well, it doesn't go far. I'll see your…

Yeah, I don't know that I buy that they aren't supposed to be similar to girdles. That's exactly how they're marketed, not only "smooth things out," but "suck things in." Besides, I'm 5'8" and haven't been more than 150 lbs in Spanks, which is the high end of "normal", not even "overweight," yet XLarge Spanks are super…

Of course he's "ABLE" to. Is that what life's about? Refusing to do anything but the bare minimum and resentful to activelyl trying to help others out? How about in the bedroom? "You're capable of doing it yourself, so you're on your own, buddy." LOL No, that would be a sad marriage, for me anyway. We do all kinds of stuff…

Can you explain what your doctor said when he "admitted" this? I have never heard of a doctor, actually any person with appropriate medical background thinking this, it doesn't make any logical sense, so school me on how that could be logistically possible. :) I don't mean that snarky, I'd just like to know, if you mean…
