  • My husband and I didn't meet on the internet but we started our relationship 300 miles away and continued in a long distance relationship for 4 years. Needless to say, although it is tough it worked out. :) My best friend met her future husband on myspace 5 years ago. (Yikes, her parents don't know this still to this day…
  • LOL! I have done that before! Good Luck with Jillian!
  • I know it doesn't help and I hate being 'clicky' by using trendy verbiage, but I'm very much straight-edge. No alcohol. That way I don't have to worry about it effecting my weight-loss. I totally don't mind going to bars or parties hanging out with family members or friends that are drinking but I'd rather not have any.…
  • When I'm stressed if I can't run, (So good for clearing my head) I run some bath water, light some candles turn on some relaxing tunes...OH I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ALREADY!
  • Like this statement. As for staying on topic. I will be happily married for 2 years on the 23rd of this month, so I'm very much a novice but I'm in this for the long haul. It took me 7 years to decide marry this man and I'm fairly sure I'm set in my decision. But what do I know, I'm young and nieve.
  • Depends but my weekly schedule looks something like this: M:45 min Cardio/15 min resistance T: 20 min crosstraining W: 30 min cardio/10 min resistance R: 45 min cardio F: 30 min crosstraining/ 15 min resistance (Sometimes Rest) S: 120 min cardio (10-13 mi run) Sun: 40 min cardio/crosstraining
  • I agree with what others had posted. It took me months to win the battle against sodium. I know a lot of people say not to worry about sodium unless you have blood pressure problems, but I've noticed my body feels and looks better around 1,000mg or less. Feel free to look at my diary for any help! I've mostly taken out a…
  • Call it a day and start over when you are feeling up to it. When I'm sick I always remember the adage my Magra (Grandmother) would constantly chime, "Feed a fever, starve a cold". Not sure if it's right or not, but it I'm still around and healthy (now). :)
  • Crushes? I'm not sure. I do have quite a few attractive MFP friends!
  • I never knew the wonders of a great sports bra! When I was a Large C I had two reebok ones that were great. They had some great support underneath the girls. I think I got them at TJMAX. Now that I'm a small B :( I have some great nike ones that I love.

  • God Bless Texas!
  • It depends for me. For a 5k distance I usually don't "purposely" eat before I run. I might drink some water but no other real planning. For a 10k distance I usually drink some water but don't eat anything either unless it's early in the morning. I will eat some 1/2 peanut butter 1/2 nutella toast or some almonds and dried…
  • I usually add as I go. But I've found that my best days have been when I've added it all ahead of time, in the morning or the day before. Planning helps keep me in line!
  • Good Lawd, I ran yesterday around 3:00 and it was 90°F. I was so much slower and was panting like a dog but I burned a ridiculous amount of calories. To say hydrated they have hydration belts that have water bottle holders on it. I don't have one but numerous runners have told me that they aren't that clunky and are…
  • I only count water as water! Tea and coffee goes in my food diary.
  • I buy steel cut oats (Quaker Brand). They're right next to the instant oatmeals. I usually follow the directions on the canister by boiling them on a stove for a while, but some times I cook them overnight in a crock pot. I add some cinnamon, vanilla, almonds and dried fruit and they are so good!
  • Diet+ Cardio + Ab workouts + Genetics = Ripped Abs. I do greatly recommend Jillian Michaels 6 weeks to 6 pack. I did week one the other day and I boy was I sore. I say keep with your ab routine, make sure you are still eating correctly and do some type of cardio activity. Good Luck!
  • Choose just ONE?! It's not a food, but it would be water. My father-in-law manages a RC Cola Plant and gets a ridiculous amount of RC, Sundrop, RedBull..ect My husband and I could go through 6 (12 pack) can cases in about a week. It have made me feel better and helped me make better food choices.

  • I completely know how you feel! I finally reached a huge goal last week and then TOM shows up and I went up 5 lbs! YIKES! I'm slowly moving back down but I feel so "blah" and unmotivated to workout. I'm just forcing myself to do it! Dang being a woman!
  • I second some greek yogurt. Fage 0% has no fat and 170 calories a cup. I add some honey to take the "bite" out of it. It's good!
  • LAWD! I don't know what I'd do without pasta! I eat whole wheat or Multigrain pasta/bread. I just make sure to limit myself to one serving!
  • I switched one day after I noticed that I was feeling ill after every time I drank my skim milk. I use Silk Original Almond Milk in everything from cereal to Mac N' Cheese. Yum!

  • I have a PolarFT4 and love it. I got it at a Sporting Goods Store for around $100. Eventually, I want to bump up to one with a GPS because I run a ton outside.
  • My mom and dad live in the middle of no where and their well water is often not drinkable. The have a Hinkley Springs water cooler (like the one in a office) My dad just takes the jugs to Home Depot, Walmart or a nearby Carwash that will Refill the jugs for a dollar or so. http://www.hinckleysprings.com/
  • I exercise just about every day. But I do different types of exercises: mostly running, but also circuit training, resistance training and yoga. I'd say as long as you don't over work the same groups of muscles every day you should be fine.
  • I agree with this. On May 6th it said you burned 1,364 calories. I barley burn that many running a half marathon. Do you have a Heart Rate Monitor? If you are using MFP to calculate the calories burned, I've found it overestimates (sometimes by far). If you are eating back those calories, you may be actually consuming OVER…
  • I love my almond milk, so I've used in for my mac n' cheese. I've used it in the past and even fooled my very picky Hubby. I'd substitute it and some soy based cheese.
  • Interesting article. I have been all different sizes my life, from an 8 to a 12 all the way down to a 4 now (YAY!). I admit I'm guilty of wearing clothes that are not the correct size for my body. I'm a pack rat (or cheapo has my husband calls it) and I still wear around some of my size 8's. It always seemed to me when I…
  • I don't have any children, it's unlikely that my husband and I will have our own biological children, but I don't mind adopting and want a many as I can support! (Just have to get my hubby on board) Names I love: (Middle names are family names) Girls: Willow Renee Ivy Jo Charlotte Faye Boys: (Boys in my Hubby's family have…
