I know compared to some my life experiences may not amount to much but I agree with Luckymam. If you know its something you go to for stress and to cope, be careful...its a dark and disturbing road to head down and a hard one to come back from. My mom is in the state hospital for downing almost a gallon of vodka and a…

Welcome! feel free to add me :) I have been here a couple months now and it has been SUCH a help!

About 55 lbs to lose here! Right now I am at 215 and want to get down to 160...hoping by the years end! My main goal atm is to get under 200 by my birthday--May 15th :) Feel free to add me...right now I am doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred so I am exercising everyday and would love some encouragement and ppl to talk to!…

Addition I think I have lost around 4 lbs since starting it and I haven't lost inches on my lower tummy which is my problem area yet but I did lose 2 inches on the smallest part of my waist...I haven't remeasured anything else...saving it for the end :)

I am on day 13 of this and I am getting results...I believe the workout is only 20 minutes and some days I will throw in something extra like treadmill or doing a couple of circuits off her Burn Fat Boost Metabolism dvd. I think you will get results doing just the 30DS but if you want to further challenge your body, I'd…

all I can say is WOW!

I have the found the most helpful thing to do is google the sites for your favorite chains and look at the nutritional info so when you do go you can make an informed decision. Right now I am in love with Quizno's Baja Chicken small sub on wheat... And alot of places are starting to add "lite" options or "diet"…

IMO when it comes to protein and fiber, NO. Carbs, eh...sodium--I try not to go over too much but some days are harder than other. Protein and fiber are so good for you though as long as its lean protein :)

well the way I had it quite a while back was not too healthy lol...after the polenta is cooked you cover it with bacon crumples and cheddar cheese and put in the oven until the cheese is ooey gooey...I hear its a great side to any kind of meat or fish tho :) just lightly season like you would any carb (potatoes/rice etc)

A huge slice of my daughter's chocolate birthday cake and a chicago style pizza dripping with cheese and sauce...I might have a seizure thinking of this.

Berries are generally lower in carbs than other fruits...but fruit in general is high because of the sugars. I wouldn't stress about that though. Be sure to eat whole grains when you are having grain so that you are getting some fiber as part of those carbohydrates. Also veggies are super low in carbs for the most…

Yes, eat lots of fruit and veggies! But include it into your journal...its not just about the calories but the nutrients/carbs/fiber etc. Veggies and fruit will be great when it comes to consuming nice portions, feeling fuller, and getting good fiber to keep you regular but some fruits--such as avacado for example--can be…

I agree with everything everyone has said here...I have never considered myself "big boned" because I have small hands and feet...so I don't know if the finger's around the wrist work in my case. Or perhaps hand and foot size do not matter in this case...but I have ALWAYS been heavier than other kids my age. I am by no…

Best bet would be an estimate...look at how many calories the bread is by itself, and if it were me...just leaving the crust...I'd cut that in half. You may have to enter it in as quick calories or make your own "meal" to get an accurate count on your day. Hope that helps some!

I agree with alot of what's been said...eat if you're hungry, don't eat if you really feel you don't need too...but also don't make it a habit to be way under all of the time. I would a 1200 net is good all around...if once in a while you're a little under or a little over, its fine :)

I just discovered these sensible portion snacks...aren't they wonderful?!

If I am craving something salty, veggie straws 38 straws are like 130 calories...or a mini whole wheat bagel (franz-100 cal) and one laughing cow light swiss cheese wedge...better than cream cheese! If I am having a sweet tooth, I love the Fiber One granola bars--oats and chocolate (140 cal) or the nature valley granola…

I googled this recipe...I have one but not sure what happened to it...these use whole wheat flour... 1 large egg 1/3 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cups whole wheat flour 3/4 cup 2% milk 1 tbs brown sugar (packed) 2 tbs vegetable oil 3 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt Directions spray skillet with non-stick spray, over medium…

Dang who woulda thunk such a benign article couldbe such a controvesy! I will say everyone should do their OWN research and consult a doctor with questions. And as to why I would be lifting smaller weights in the gym than men...because I want petite biceps! lol not manly ones! Thank you for this info :) And I agree with…

I love stir fries! So yummy and fufilling!

I have read about zig zagging your cals and I think the idea is to have a weekly average equal to what your daily goal would be. I am not a doc, but what I've read makes sense...you metabolism doesn't get stuck in a calorie rut so to speak and it kind of gives you a cheat day which is nice. I don't do it on purpose per say…

You might try the recipe calculator here on MFP. Go to food, my recipes, and to the right there should be a green button to create a new recipe. You can use generic items to estimate how many cals were in your food. Good luck! If all else fails, I google.

Ok so I had most of these ingredients on hand and just made these brownies! Omgosh they were suprisingly very good. I did not make the frosting, and I think I will next time to try it out but they were great...not too too sweet but super yummy and the chocolate morsels are just mmmm. I ran out of vanilla extract so I used…

That is one of my cravings too! TOM can be a pain, hang in there, and don't weigh yourself...it might depress you. It does me!

Well what I have been doing is before hand I google the restaurant I plan to go to and see if I can get the nuritional info on their dishes. Also like someone else said, a lot of places are starting to post that info and some have light menus...if there isn't something on the light menu that appeals to you order your fave…

Started on the 1st! Done it three days in a row and I think it just depends on your fitness level...her last ab exercise on level one KILLS me lolz! But yes I think you will find a challenge in there for you...even the chicks in the video with the tight abs are sweating :) Good luck! And anyone doing the March 30 Day Shred…

Unfortunately WalMart is not the ideal place to find organic...they do have some--SOME--organic produce, mostly veggies and salad mixes. As far as whole grain/whole wheat--check the back of packages! If the first ingredient isn't whole wheat, opt out and look for something else. Buy stuff that says 100% whole wheat or 100%…
