My name is Bobbi Jo. I started running in November 2013. I couldn't run a mile. I ran my first half marathon in april 2014 and my 2nd 28 days later. I am doing 3 halfs this fall and my goal is to do the Pittsburgh Full Marathon this year. Excited about this group to learn lots!

No diets-- all lifestyle change and that came slowly over time. Cut things out here and there. Make modifications and eventually it all came together. I dont feel like I am missing out on things and certain things i have no cravings for any longer

Super Super Excited. This was the first month that I set my goal over 100-- I have been consistently getting 100 miles each month. This month my goal was 125 and I got 156 with some amazing runs in. Here is to an awesome July.

I think you could sign up for either and be ready. Trail running is fun but depending on the trails kind of hilly, so make sure to work hills into your runs!

I am glad that you enjoyed it and welcome to the beginning of your journey. It's an amazing one, so enjoy the process and don't just look for the end. I love the runner's high =)

It was through local university here. They have a weight management clinic that does research studies on weight loss. The study that I am doing does body scans and vo2 tests and alot of other things. Its been amazing. And they pay me to see how diet and exercise impact my weightloss.

Not a cruel question-- of course I hit road blocks and stumbled. This journey has been hard. Probably the hardest thing I have ever done and will ever do. There were lots of doubts, days of wanting to give up, tears and lots of sweat. But I dealt with each hurdle as I got there. Last year my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV…

Its doing great-- lots of water and lots of working out. Strength training and all. Its really bouncing back =)

I used to feel this way until I realized that confidence doesn't come from weightloss, it comes from in you. There were days that I actually felt more confident when I weighed more. Part of it is recognizing your strengths, things you like about yourself and really working on the inner you- not what you look like on the…

Start with small changes- they feel less overwhelming at the time. I weigh and measure all of my food because my eyes always wants more than my stomach needs. you can do this =)

Awesome month so far-- halfway through and doing great!

Awesomely productive June so far! Ran 20 miles for my birthday this past weekend: 2 5k's and a long run of 14 miles!
-
Try to stay as consistent as possible. I bet that you work hard during the week and then sometimes your weekend takes away some of that hard work. Also- are you measuring your food? or just eye balling it? You can do it =)

Sometimes it takes time. Years. Have faith in the process and keep going. We didn't gain weight overnight, we dont lose it overnight either.
-
Ok-- I have been at 100 miles from Jan-May, so this month I am going to up my goal and set it for 125-- lets see how this goes!! Got 10 in today!!
