Throughout my weightloss it has changed. I have had periods where Zumba was my favorite, the ellitpical, kickboxing, spinning. But my new love is running. I can do it anywhere, I burn a lot of calories, I have made some amazing friends and have done things I never imagined.

Find whatever works. None of my friends would work out with me. One time I did find a friend to work out with and it was awful. She would want us to skip a lot and I just went back to doing it along. Start small and increase. Don't look at the end picture, just focus on what you are currently doing. At first I used bribes…

Don't stress about using the wrong words. I think its common for new people. I have friends that post they are doing a marathon and they are doing a 5k and they know what a marathon is because they see me train. But to answer you question- you can do it. I actually didn't run my first real 5k until after I completed two…

So my first suggestion would be to google your local running specialty store .. Contact them to see if they have group runs, coaches, etc. Mine does and they are amazing! As far as a plan-- Hal Higdon has some amazing plans. So have you ever run a half marathon? If not, you will want to find one a couple weeks out from…

I am a big believe that once you are open talking about your weight issues change can happen. That is when I noticed the change. so now figure out little things that you can change, and those little changes will start to snowball. You didnt gain it all in one day, so kind of working backwards =)

I think sometimes we go to crazy measures to get crazy results. we need real results with real measures. Try to make small steps. You reached out, so that is the first step

Food for me is pizza-- so i just limit it. and for a while it was Diet Soda but i haven't drank any since October.... and alcohol, but i try to avoid it as much as possible and then cave here and there

I am 5'5 and weigh 165 now. Thanks! THis post made me laugh, because most of my life if someone asked me my weight i would have cringed lol

I would put sedentary and adjust if needed.

There is a consignment chain near me called Clothes Mentor-- they buy clothes on the spot and give you cash. Then I buy new clothes..and they take plus sizes. I was like you. I got rid of all of them once they were way to big to wear. There is no going back.

I started the program in November. And right after I started to train for my first half marathon. So it completely works if you keep pushing yourself. Good job on week 3 =)

i would highly recommend if you have a running store near you to go talk with them. I have pronation issues, so I need a different kind of shoe than some people, etc. I love my Brooks and Saucony running shoes though. Didn't have the best of luck with new balance.

First off- Congrats to everyone! Whether you are just starting this journey or whether its been a long time. I started my journey in October 2008 at my heaviest- 341. Today I weight 165 and it feels amazing =) I have done it all naturally, I get quite annoyed when people ask me if I hard surgery (which is fine for some,…

I think for some people a rest day means being as sedentary as possible. But for others, it just means you aren't working out. I use my rest day as a no work out, but I am always on the go unless I am horribly sick ha ha

I don't use the BMI because it doesn't account for muscle. I go by how I feel, my fitness level and my blood work;

One thing that worked for me is that I don't restrict many foods unless I decide I no longer want them. I just eat healthy 80% of the time and the other 20% I allow myself to make some other choices but I just limit the quantity of those choices. Even if you just started weighing/measuring your foods but eating the same…

ha ha yeah that is a huge one. Mine are being able to shop wherever and find more discount clothes, running my first half marathon and crazily planning to run a full marathon lol

Everyone needs to connect with someone that will motivate them to change. For some its health issues, for some its a number on the scale, to be around for your kids. But find it and use it to move forward. Make small changes over time and good things will happen =)

favorite exercise is running-- outdoors. Esp long distance running. I run 4-5 times a week for about 30-40 miles. I strength train 3 times a week and I try to cross train in something else atleast one time a week. I use a body media band right now or my garmin 210 but ive been doing it so long its pretty easy to figure…

I hate rest days, I do. But with running, my body needs them. Your body probably needs them too- i heard it helps your muscles repair, blah blah blah. I do notice that as much as I hate them, that my body loves them. But like someone said, I don't have a set day every week that is my rest day, i look at what life has going…

This happened to me and then one day I got caught in the rain and it completely died. I had it for like 4 years-- i took it to apple and they let me buy a replacement (same model) from them for $75. for me, it was the best solution because I loved my nano and the clip and I dont like the newer versions of either the…

We all have ups and downs. Sometimes its those things we do wrong that we learn the most from. Just start today and start making a better decision. You can do this.

Right now the only one I can focus on is do a full marathon before I turn 35 next year =)

that is awesome congrats!! I hate running fast- My best time so far is 28:24

I ran two half marathons this spring and lost 30 lbs while doing it. It only impacted my running positively. What i have found works for me is on days that I just run for an hour- i keep my calories that same that I would doing any other exercising (for me right now that is 1300). on days i run up to 16 miles, I increase…
