I hope to lose 20lbs by Xmas as well. I'd like to join too!

Thought that you originally meant American Indian as opposed to East Indian too. I am mixed with Cherokee on my grandmother's side.

This is me too. Counting my calories and other nutrients is what works best for me. Portion control has been key as well. It allows for me to be able to have days (occasionally) of eating something that I love such as fried chicken or fries and know that I still stayed within my limits. It feels good to know that I've…

CONGRATS TO ALL OF THE NEW MOMMIES!!! :)

Hi! My newest addition is 8 months old and the light of my life! <3 <3<3 I gained lots of weight during TWO back to back pregnancies. Need to lose 72 lbs total, down 25 lbs so far. I also just really started on my weight loss journey in the middle of July. My goal is to be a healthy 130 lbs, which was my pre pregnancy…

Sodium is okay in moderation but, can cause water retention in excess. Too much sodium is just not good for your health.
-
Yes, I agree. Even deli/cold cuts that tend to be low in calories, seem to still be high in sodium. It adds up quick!
-
That is an awesome job and you look great! Keep up the good work!
-
That weight loss in 8 months time is amazing! Congrats and good luck with the rest of your weight loss journey! :)

I still have a ways to go. However, I have had a few weight loss journeys as well. I lost weight in the past due to poor dieting, just to gain it all back. This time is different though. I have learned a new way of eating which is key. I am not starving myself any more. I can eat real foods and still lose…

Not so much fitness related as you but, I can get up off of the floor and couch without it being a challenge. Also, my knees don't hurt as much...or really at all anymore. I sound so old but, it is true. 24 lbs lost so far really has made a difference already. lol
-
I thought the same thing because you look great already! Congrats on your weight loss!
-
That's great for her! What does "gif" stand for though?

May be try packing a snack that is light in cals, sugar, etc. If you already know that you have packed something to eat, you are less likely to grab the unhealthy stuff. Another reason why they advise people to not go grocery shopping hungry because you may pick up extras that appeal to you, yet are not good for you.

None of these are my ideal. At my lowest weight of 125 lb, I still have curves and am pear shaped. So, my ideal would be Jennifer Love Hewitt or Kim K's bod minus the boobs.

Never saw any food ads on mfp aside from companies advertising weight loss programs or "5 bad foods to eat".
-
You all look so great! I can't wait to see my before and after pic too. My sw was 202 lb, cw is 179-180 lbs and my gw is 130 lbs. I am 5'2".

28 with two children...boy 7 yrs old and a daughter who is 8 months old. Couldn't be happier in life without them!

Carbs are only bad in excess. I don't like it when people try to totally cut something out of their meal plans. To be honest, it is just setting them up for failure in the end. If you are losing weight, continue with what has worked best for you. Good luck on your journey and you are looking great!

What works best for me is drinking 1-2 8 fl oz cups of water with each meal and making sure that each meal is equally balanced. Protein, veggie, carb (keep it low) and my water. I eat 3 meals a day and at least one snack which is usually a nonfat yogurt or piece of fruit.
-
Such a great job so far! 30lbs in 2-3 months is awesome. Keep up the good work and you will make your goal! :)
-
I usually hard boil them and eat at least one a day. Sprinkle just a tad bit of salt and pepper or plain with my breakfast each morning. I like it for it's protein.

I like the fact that my core doesn't feel as heavy anymore and that my double chin is starting to thin out. I just FEEL healthier. :)
-
You are doing and looking awesome! I can definitely see the differences in your pics.

My youngest is 8 months old. So, for months that was my main focus...not my weight. I had a couple of things that led up to my "last straw". 1.) My husband had begun losing weight while I continued to gain. He is 6'2", I am 5'2" and we were almost at the same weight. I weighed in at 202 lbs. 2.) My husband had a ceremony…

I like bananas and eat them almost every day. Nonfat and no sugar added yogurt is also a healthy treat.

To keep myself on track, I take one day out of the WK of my choosing to treat myself to something that I would usually avoid such as Chinese food. However, instead of eating like that for a whole day, I take one meal out of that day to eat some good eats. I still track what I have eaten and I also workout the same day.…

I think that you are looking at eating healthy in a wrong way. We need a certain amount of carbs and fat to have energy. You should not limit it to only once per day. There are good carbs and bad carbs. Bag of chips bad carb...english muffin good carb...special k good carb. All things are OK in moderation. Losing 5 lbs in…

Nice read! Thanks for the info.
