This is on my to-do list.

I can see you are quite frugal. Maybe instead of buying those P3 snacks, you could buy those ingredients in bulk and get your kids to help prep them. You could leave out a block of cheese for ~30mins, so they can cut it easier. I'm sure the little one would love to count (or measure) how many nuts or cheese cubes into a…

I don't intend on stopping buying so much milk. I was merely asking for some respect when expressing opinions. Everyone can have their opinions and please do express them but do it in a manner that doesn't imply that someone else's opinion is wrong because it's not yours. My son is 14 and eats like a horse and cereal is…

I just want to start by saying THANK YOU for all of the wonderful advice, suggestions and words of encouragement. However, I must get something off my chest. Please stop telling me to stop buying milk. I understand that no one wants to read thru an entire thread when there are several pages and tons of posts but several…

It is used. I cannot afford a new one at this point and assuming this one works it will give me an idea if this is something worth investing in later on. Fingers crossed.

Ok, I don't understand all of this. I think I have mine set to 1lb per week bc I didn't plan to tackle this aggressively. For me it is about learning how to eat healthy and getting past sugar cravings and the like. I started at around 265 and I am 5'9 (ish). I have lost 43lb in probably 110-120 days. I lost some weight bf…

I updated my weight and it dropped me 200 calories. I was still losing with what it was set at so that kind of put a damper on things but I couldn't figure out how to change it back.
-
Ok. Well I hope it gets here soon so I can check it out. Right now I am just logging and eating better. I haven't started adding exercising or anything. My phone has the S Health on it but it just logs that I got xx amount of steps or xx min of activity and you can't always carry your phone on your person for every step…
-
So it doesn't actually log that you walked 30 min it will just up your calories a little?
-
It was only $40 so if I like it and feel like it's beneficial I will upgrade later on.
-
I was wrong it's the FitBit Flex
-
Does it log your activity automatically? I bought a used FitBit on eBay, I think the charge, and am waiting for it to arrive. I haven't added exercise into my weight-loss yet. I have just been logging everything and staying under my calories.
-
I've had 3 phones since then but thanks! I just realized that the glasses I'm wearing I haven't had in like a year and a half so safe to say it may be up to 2 years old.

I just cook it for 8 hours. I don't mess with it until then.

I must say that I am thrilled at how this post took off. There is so much useful information here and I know I am not the only one who is feeding a family on not a lot of money!
-
OMG Why did I never think to cook it over night and re-heat later!?!?!? Seriously, brilliant! I can't believe I never thought of that, geez! I have been doing the "roasted" whole chicken in a crock-pot on Sundays and yesterday after I pulled my chicken out we had some shredded chicken BBQ sliders on those little Kings…

I hope that this thread will be helpful to others. There has been so much information given here.

So I didn't get all the meal prep done that I had planned this weekend, however, I did make a whole chicken in a crock pot on sunday. Huge hit!! I think it was a 4/5 lb chicken and it was around $5 and it made probably 3 solid meals worth of chicken or possibly double that depending on how you use it. I did kick myself…

I got a jump start so to speak with weight lose due to a life change we'll say so I'm trying to come back in right. I have kicked the sugar addiction and eat little to no junk food. I am reevaluating the way we eat and trying to cooking styles and recipes.
-
I did set it to zero, yes. And I just felt like that was an awful lot of chicken to be 4oz. Thanks guys.
-
Does this look like 4oz of chicken?
-
I do all that stuff bc I like to. Yes, I sew. I also make their cakes for birthdays and stuff like that. I have always done these things regardless of my financial status. When I see something I look at how it's made and then do it myself. My girls like the big hair bows and I'm not spending $20 on a bow so I learned how…

And just to address the cooking posts...I do cook. I very seldom buy pre-made items. I am a good cook and there really isn't much I can't cook. I do anything I am capable on my own. And not just in the kitchen. If I need a cute outfit for my 3yo to cheer on her brother at a football game, I make her one. Just an example.…

Thanks for all the posts. I have a Wal-Mart and 2 local groceries near me. Anything else would be in Oklahoma City to the best of my knowledge and that's around 2 hours away. I live in a very rural area. I can't address every post but I appreciate it. This weekend I am going to start doing meal prep work and planning and…

@clh72569 Brilliant! Thanks for the tip! I will try that.

I highly doubt her mother is going to be willing to give up the tax credit for herself. In reality she has it pretty good. She can collect all the benefits of being a single mother without having to support the child. I'm not raising her to collect money on her. I just posted my question to get some information on feeding…

@kshama2001 I don't use recipes. I just, say, put a cup of baking soda in the sink drain and pour in vinegar and use a sponge to scrub the sink walls etc. Or make mop water with a couple drops of dawn and add vinegar and mop. I add vinegar to every sinkful of dishes I wash. Just things like that. I did want to try to save…

I am taking care of her bc her mom is a (insert adjective here) and her dad is out with his new family and I love her regardless of her DNA. I just have a verbal agreement with her mother. I could call her mom and say hey come get your kid and be less that expense but that is just not something I am willing to consider.…

@shelly_belly927 I don't buy any household cleaners. I use vinegar and baking soda and dawn. I also dilute my laundry soap 50/50 with vinegar. Saves money, cuts down on over use of soap and helps clean clothes better.
