LOL just found out I fibbed about my time - it was actually 28:46. Hahaha the clock must have been blurred through the extreme exhaustion of trotting round the course!!!

This!! I am so tired of explaining to people that it's not necessarily losing "weight" but losing "fat" and changing shape. I can feel the muscles under there but there's that horribly wobbly squidgy flabby jiggly flab sitting over the top that just needs to go!! Also people are astonished that I cycle to work every day…

Go for it! I will do as it looks good if I can find one near me! Thank you! Edit; yay I got the multi-quote thing to work!!!

I suffered from shin splints when I used to walk too fast, but oddly enough I haven't had any problems with them when running. Quite surprised, as I thought I would. The good think about the C25K is that it builds you up slowly from 60secs running at the start through to 30 minutes on week 9. If you have any problems…

Way to go!

Have had a look at this and the nearest ones to me are over an hour's drive away, so a bit of a no-go unfortunately!
-
I'm currently on 63 done, so 87 to go. Haha really need to get off my butt and get out there a bit more!! Will go the long way home tonight as the weather is nice and bright so that will be another 7 miles to add to my (huge LOL!) total. Hopefully might get out over the weekend - will stop me shopping anyway!

Oooh he's lovely  LOL apologies for the Appendix thing, hahaha it's not something I've ever heard of in connection with horses so I wondered if it was one of those helpful "autocorrect" things you get when typing from an iPhone or something  I don't have my own horse but this was a TB mare I fell in love with…

Amazing  You should be proud not embarrassed - thank you for sharing with us
-
Cool, I'll have a look at that to see if there's anything near me  Thanks for the replies peeps, I love the support on these boards, it's brilliant! If I can run a 5k then anyone can and it's an amazing feeling when everyone who's already finished is urging you to keep going. and clapping and cheering as you come…

LOL no I wouldn't but the tyres I put on the Scott are as skinny as the ones it came with, and weight-wise there is no difference that I can tell. When I picked the Scott up, I rode it home and cycled to work the following morning. When I went to cycle home, the back tyre was flat. So, with the tyres it came with, I had a…

?????????? Another rider here! Not up to the standard of those who've posted so far, but ride every week. We've just started jumping properly and spent an entertaining lesson last week trying to do counter-canter on purpose (so much easier when you're not trying!!).

 I'm not on the spreadsheet!!! Is it because I don't have the form/didn't update you? Sorry :frown: The calories I've burned so far are in my sig at the moment, though I have cycling and horse riding from yesterday and running from today to add on!!
-
There was a form??? Oops, I must have missed that!! I will email for it  Thanks peeps.
-
Hi all, are we updating our calories on the thread or by PM? thanks
-
45 miles done for me, so 105 to go!!! Keep biking everyone!
-
Ooh, I'm in!!! So far this month I'm on 32 (rather than do a countdown my miles will be in my Trackie
-
So glad I'm not the only person who was thinking this!!!

Funny you should ask this, I went out with a local running club for the first time last night - I went with the "slow runners and beginners" group as it was my first time with them. Have to say it was great! I normally run on my own and get into my own little place with my iPod, but running with other people is good as you…

I've got a Scott Contessa Speedster 35 and I love it!!!!!! She retails at £699. I'd been riding a Specialized Ariel Sport hybrid for 18 months and then upgraded at Easter and now go out of my way to cycle! Only thing is make sure you add some puncture resistance tyres.

Way to go!
-
It'll be easier than you think, I was surprised at how well I managed to do the 20 minute run and I was dreading it  I have just done D1 of W8 today, so not far to go for me!!!! I treated myself to some new, decent running shoes at the weekend and they were lovely this morning
-
Who gives a hoot if you ended up walking round the 5K??? Who cares what your time was (other than you LOL)? At the end of the day you achieved something brilliant, you should be way proud of yourself!!!! :flowerforyou: People are so small minded sometimes, they're not worth bothering about. Kudos to you on getting out…
-
Cheers  Bit worried still about the whole falling-off thing but I guess it all comes with practice!!
-
Thanks for this, really useful read!

I've got a co-worker who starts literally EVERY sentence with "But the point is...." And, there never IS a point!!! AARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH. I also have the people who've asked me what I've done to lose weight and then all seem astonished when I tell them I basically stopped drinking half a bottle of wine every night, and…

 LMAO!!!!!! I'll have The Stick please, it sounds like the BEST THING EVER!!!!!  Excellent post!

Mix, my straight route to work is 2 miles each way, but in the summer at least I can find other routes around the lanes and such that take it up to about 4.5/5 miles each way  For me, calorie-wise, a 12 minute ride burns 109 calories (I always thought it was more but my FT4 tells me it isn't!) and that's about 3…

I'm on Week 7 of C25k and will be doing D2 tomorrow - it's either 25 or 28 minutes, can't remember which  I'm amazed at how well this programme works, I really struggled on W1/D1 to do the 60 sec runs and now I'm up to 20+. Also amazed at how much I am actually enjoying getting out there at 6.30am and thumping round…

I'm in!! I did the June challenge and got to 10,000 (just over) so for July I will aim for 12,000  Let's hope the weather's good or my cycling will go RIGHT out of the window!!!
