This confused me too, but I decided to do the exact same thing as suggested above! If my marinade recipe is 1 cup and after marinating, I have 7/8 cup left, I know that 1/8 cup was absorbed into the meat. So when I log it, I log 1/8 of my recipe. ????

My Mom's trick when making southern pinto beans and corn bread was to boil the pintos, drain the water, and then re-boil or however you cook them. The downward trend looks great! Yay! Someone mentioned sodium, and I know that whenever I consume a lot of sodium the day or so before weighing-in, I tend to have water weight. The thing is, I love salt, so I have to make a conscious effort to not consume a lot of sodium right before I know I'll weigh-in.
