Heart heathly diet is now 1500 or less, they want to lower it for everyone to be 1500 or less. It takes time to adjust but once you do it is easy to do. We learned that 5% per serving is best, for heart health. Mine is set for 1500 and I usually stay between 700-900 each day.

Well those calories are ok but has anyone checked the sodium? Those numbers will scare you and use up most of your daily numbers in one sitting

I had half of a red stuffed pepper (stuffed with hamburger, brown rice and some flax seed meal) and some sauted asparagus.

When we lowered our sodium , I got rid of all the salt and unhealthy foods. Then it is about reading and reading and more reading labels in the grocery store. You would not believe the salt in everyday foods. Even the difference between brands is amazing. Once you remove sallt it is very easy to stay away from it. My mfp…

I changed my sodium intake to 1500 and I usually stay around 700-900 a day. His is easy for me because my hunny and myself began a heart healthy lifestyle this past summer after his heart attack. So after getting he sodium, cholesterol and low fat changes under control now it's time to get the calories under control.

For me it would have to be Lobster Ravioli at Macaroni Grill, not just the calories but also the sodium and carbs.

I quit smoking ten months ago and didn't gain any weight. Although I am just beginning my weight loss journey. I had just gone to the doctor so I know I didn't gain any weight, just drink lost and lots of water to flush the toxins out of your body. When I stopped smoking I had realized I was ready to be done with the…

More women suffer heart attacks without the typical symptoms, I would strongly suggest you see your doctor or th ER asap. Remember we are no doctors and even if someone is a doctor they would probably have to examine you before making any type of conclusion to why this is happening. Please see you dr.

We have gone a low sodium diet since my hunny had a massive heart attack six months ago. The first step was to rid my house of salt and I mean all salt. The we learned from he nutrionist that you have to read labels, all labels. You would be suprised at the difference just by the brand names. If there is less than 5%…

HI everyone, I have just started this journey and would really like to add friends for support. I use both my phone and home computer and I am really working on commitment with doing this. I have been so unhappy with my weight issue for so long. And like I have learned elsewhere when the pain of remaining the same is…

For me I started to look at sodium back in 1985 when my mom had three massive heart attacks in a week and passed away. But all I really did was to remove added salt from the table. This past summer my fiancee had a massive heart attack after a motorcycle accident. His family has NO history of heart troubles where mine is…

We use a digital scale because my hunny has to weigh himself everyday for heart issues. And our scale differs from the hospital bed, doctors office and cardiac rehab. None of them match. So as long as he uses the same one everyday we will know of any overnight weight gain. So I would guess that whatever you are comfortable…
