Late for dinner. There might not be enough food when I finally get there and that would make me sad.

I looked at these pics a lot over the past year and then after going in and getting a bod pod assessment I realized that I have seriously flawed self image. I thought I was well in the 25-30% range and it turns out I'm just a little over 17%. This all goes to say that the people who want to know their body fat and rely on…

I just got over a cold and 1.5 weeks out of the gym because of travel & sickness and last night it was really starting to get to me. I ate pretty much as I normally do this past week (which is a lot... usually at least 2500kcal a day) and was getting to that weird sluggish place where every piece of chocolate looks good…

If you don't have a ton of time to devote to the gym - HIIT and Tabata are for you! Interval training is great for weight loss, cardiovascular fitness, toning etc. For the most part I only do "long cardio" workouts on rest days or on days when I am also lifting weights (i.e. weekends when I have the time).
-
I did something similar to this - I have taken "progress" pics every 1-2 months (my profile pic is the most recent one). I do one picture in sporty underwear and one in "feel good" underwear and compare my progress over the long game. This really helps me see the changes.

I think most people suffer from at least mild body dis-morphia. There are days when I get changed 6 or 7 times because I feel uncomfortable in my skin. This may not help but at least you know you're not alone!

Consider buying yourself a head lamp (silly looking but probably a good idea given the conditions you are running in). Also, check out Fitness Blender on youtube and their website - they have lots of workouts you can do in the comfort of your own home when the weather gets bad!

go see a doctor... maybe you aren't eating enough, maybe you are exercising too much, maybe you are eating more than you think you are eating, maybe you aren't exercising enough... however you play it, you are not providing your body with enough energy to actually survive (well below your BMR) and that is silly

check out FitnessBlender on youtube... I'm also a massive fan of finishing off my workouts with 5 or 10 minute abs. That's where you do 1 minute of an exercise and then switch exercises without any rest (move to working a different part of your abdomen and maybe throw in things like burpees or plank or squat jumps). Here's…

I think that - just as with men - there's a great deal of natural variation here. Some women (myself included) love the gym because it is a fairly competitive environment that facilitates the pursuit of fitness and health. Others hate it because they aren't fit enough (this has been be occasionally), because it's too…

you're rocking it!

@njrunningmom - buddies! But only if I can take a pic of your hair in to my next appointment!!

sweet - if you check my other pic you will see about 50% of a leeloo/5th element costume. I'm working on the suspenders and waiting for the wig to arrive in the mail. Then it's just a matter of sewing black stripes onto the pants :)

You look like a gladiator!

@mruntindy - nice bod, and I love the res. evil cosplay

Practically speaking, this isn't the best idea. Generally food (even the raw ingredients) is cheaper in bulk and if you cook "single" meals you will probably lose a lot of money as food spoils. Better to cook normal amounts of food and portion it out/use your freezer.
-
I think portion control is much easier when you eat alone because you're less likely to get into the "must finish all the food I cooked" mentality. Instead you can portion things out, freeze or refrigerate the extras, and eat a single serving. Highly recommended - home made pasta sauce with extra lean ground beef...CRAZY…
