I am surprised more people have not heard of this. I saw this on TV months and months ago now. All of the people I saw interviewed about it were only doing it to lose weight quickly before an event. I didn't see anyone doing it long term, in fact, I'm not sure they would've let them do it long term.

Just remember that an hour workout is only 4% of your day so what really counts is what you're doing with the REST of your day. If you're only trying to net 1200 calories you need to be eating some of your exercise calories. But that's just my opinion. Don't feel guilty about it!!

Depends on his goals and what he's trying to accomplish. Most typical people get all the protein they need from their regular diet but if he's trying to accomplish a goal of some sort he may need more. Hard to answer that question without more information.
