Why not? Aren't whole grains better than white rice and white bread?

This thread is great! I don't think I've ever binged before - the worst thing I'd do is go for a mcdonald's meal, afterwards I always feel like throwing up from the salt and the fat :( Anyway, look at how far you all have come, definitely should be proud :)

Thanks for this thread, definitely need some tips as well! I find that rice can make me full for hours on end. But it's definitely not a good choice for a moderate carb diet :(

I had an apple, a slice of wholemeal bread topped with 1 tbsp of Fifty 50's peanut butter and a banana. Quite filling!

Thanks so much for this! It's really encouraging to know that not everyone loses steadily. I see from your ticker that you've lost quite a lot already! Congrats. Would you mind me asking how long has that taken you? Thanks.

Thanks! Do you mind me asking you when you started seeing results? From the beginning? Also, throughout the 6 months you kept exercising 3 days/week? My burn is accurate I think, as I use a HRM and it's set to my specs (age, height, weight etc) as well. I guess my problem is not tracking food as rigorously. I find it very…

Thanks for your reply :) I actually didn't track using the MFP app, but tracked elsewhere. Nonetheless I do miss days sometimes and you're probably right, I might be underestimating how much I eat. On the other hand I use a HRM for exercise so I'm pretty sure about the cals I burned. I'm also quite short - 5 ft 1 inch.

Thanks so much all of you for your wonderful advice and informative responses. After reading your posts and thinking about it, I do realize that I had set myself up for failure (or illness) by wanting to rush it. I guess patience is one of the most important and valuable things I can learn during the weight loss journey.…

I lost around 10 pounds walking around Italy for a month. I literally just walked everyday, even if it meant an hour or two back to my hostel. I think I was on my feet for 10 hours a day on average.

Awesome transformations!! Really gives me hope :D May I ask what exercises worked best for you if you were originally pear shaped?

Awesome responses, all of you!! Thanks so much. Dieting is of course very important and I'm working to keep a strict one :) It's just good to know that all the steps do add up in the end :) For those of you who have pedometers, which ones have been the best for you? I'm not sure which brand to buy. Thanks!

Losing 20 lbs by Christmas would be a dream come true!!! I'm definitely going for it!! Please feel free to add me, anyone :D

Wow, you guys are amazing!! I can't believe I got so much encouraging and helpful feedback so quickly. Thanks so much! Now I'm totally motivated to find as many chances to move around as I can. So hello, stairs!!! :D

You are gorgeous! Care to share what exercises you did? :)

Just a question - do you guys stretch/warm up before the crunches or do you just get on with it? Is it more effective if you warm up first? Thanks!

I didn't expect to lose, I was just surprised at the weight gain. Anyway thanks for all your suggestions. I'm getting on it. :)

Thanks all of you for your replies! I'll definitely start tracking, which I have done before and my diet hasn't changed. When I did track I was always a bit under the recommended calorie intake. Water retention seems a very high possibility though, I haven't been drinking much so I'll definitely do more of that! Thanks so…

PS. my diet is very clean, I'm vegetarian and almost all my meals are home cooked.

You're not the only one - I gained 4 lbs after a week of the Shred, too! I think it might be water retention - try drinking more water to flush it out. But I'm also looking forward to other people's replies! Just know that you're not alone lol :)

I've sent you a friend request :)

I think it's a form of procrastination for me. Every time I have some difficult task at hand, I find myself wandering to the snacks shelf. It feels like some kind of quick comfort, but a very unhealthy one!

I've been a vegetarian for almost two years now. Good on you for deciding to give it a go! Feel free to add me and exchange tips :)

I suck at motivating myself as well. But I've find that going through the experiences of other people really helps me to believe that the thing can be done. Try browsing through the 'success stories' section of this forum, there are loads of amazing men and women who have reached their goals one step at a time - and you…

I just finished Day 9 of Level 1. The Shred is great because it's so short. If you mute Jillian (it gets annoying after a while) and put on some fast music, it goes by in a blur! Good luck to all of us!

I'm just starting my weight loss journey, also need lots of motivation and this forum is great for providing it! Please add me and let's support each other :D
