Hello, I have the same condition and it has progressed to the point where I can't even walk without pain, let alone exercise. I had surgery to release my right leg last week but it's still too early to tell whether it's helped withe the calf pain. Did you ever get the problem cured? I hope you did!

Wow, that makes me very hopeful! Thanks so much for all of your advice. I'll do some searching on the net.

Congrats on your improvement! Thanks for the really good advice. A question: how do you estimate how much distance you've run? There are very few long and straight streets around where I live, so I'm just wondering how to keep track of the distance. Thanks again!

I'm so sorry to hear that you don't get support from your partner. I agree with what has already been said - you should definitely try to communicate with your partner. If things don't change, perhaps let him/her know how serious this might affect your relationship. I have been very lucky in that my partner has been very…

I know how you feel and I sympathise with you. My immediate family has always been supportive, but my relatives can be downright rude about my weight. The first thing they would say to me at a gathering is 'It's time for you to lose weight, don't you think?' or 'Your legs look fat, you need to do something about them', or…

I'm interested but what will we be doing?

The 30 day shred is commonly said to be the best for those who are just starting out. I loved it and it helped me kick start my fitness journey. I'm currently doing a combo of Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism (alternating the videos, one video each day). They kick butt!

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I iced my knees after working out today and also did some knee strengthening exercises, and they don't feel so bad now. shutterbug35 - I'm so sorry to hear that! I can't imagine what it must feel like - my knees are irritating me but nowhere near the kind of pain you described. I'm sure…

I feel ya! I commute to work and it takes around 1.5 hours one way. By the time I get home, working out is definitely not on my mind! Two things I've found works so far: 1. trying to schedule my workouts in the morning, even if it means waking up much earlier 2. even if I must workout in the evenings, if I'm really tired I…

Wow, you look great! Huge difference for sure. Especially your arms - you can really see the definition! Do keep it up! You won't want to start all over again and you've come this far already. Be proud and onwards and upwards! :flowerforyou:

Thanks! I just did NMTZ for the first time. Wow it is HARD. I managed to finish the whole workout but was exhausted. Not feeling too sore though, so probably need to up the weights. Thanks for all your encouragement!!

THANK YOU! My knees have been hurting too which is strange because I've been running for weeks now with no knee pain. I'll definitely try your suggestion tmr.

THIS.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions! I'm eating 1200-1400 a day (I counted cals religiously for a month until I had a grasp of what to eat to stay within that limit. My diet hasn't changed much since then) and also my exercise calories (sometimes). I actually don't have time to watch TV, unless you count the 15 mins of…

Thanks for the feedback! That was the general impression I got from researching online as well - seems like most people don't find wii an actual workout. I'll rethink it, thanks!

No worries, I'm also just beginning - I'm on day 4 today. I'm also running 3x a week. I love the strength moves but HATE THE RUNNING MAN. HATE IT!!!!!!!!

Pasta with shrimps in homemade creamy tomato sauce Breakfast - pancakes with honey (not added here) and scrambled eggs with rainbow peppers

This has never failed me - put the eggs into the pot/pan while the water* is still cold. Boil till water is boiled. Turn off the stove and let the eggs sit inside the pot/pan (with a lid covering it) for 12 mins. Take them out, and you've got perfect easy-to-peel eggs! *water should just cover the eggs

Has anyone done the Dukan diet? It was such a craze a few years back and I think it's still on bestseller shelves in some bookstores. I did it for a week and lost 5 lbs - got constipated, couldn't sleep, had cold sweats, gave in, gained 10 lbs right away. :flowerforyou:

Thank you all so much for your wonderful sharing! I like many of the suggestions made here - go on a run without my HRM, read a book about running, think about other things while running. I'll definitely give all of them a try. My goal isn't to participate in races but to be fit and also develop a habit for an exercise…

Hi OP, I think in general you seem to be on the right track. But if I were you I would 1. count fruits and vegs into your calorie intake (some fruits, like bananas, could be up to 100 cals. It's good to keep them counted) 2. make sure you also count the 'cheat days' when you eat pizza or other stuff; 3. try hard to be…

Thanks so much all of you! I'm excited about starting RI30 and am very relieved to hear that I won't have to follow the meal plan to get results!
-
Sorry, what equipment does this program require? Is it just a mat, dumb bells and an elastic band?
-
Amazing results!!! Did you do anything else aside from JMBR?
-
By the way, due to budget constraints, it would be nice if the videos are available for free online. Is P90X free anywhere?
-
Thank you! What JM videos (aside from 30 DS, which I'm almost completing) have you found effective for strength training?
-
Thank you! Here's more info about my situation: I've been working out since early Feb this year, started out with 3x per week at a gym. My gym membership expired so I started the 30 DS, am now on Level 3 and will finish in a week. I'm also trying to run for 30 mins at least 4x a week. I'm 5'1 and currently at around 130…

Thanks! Which JM videos did you do? I'm almost through with her 30 DS.

I haven't done it myself but I've seen from the posts here that the New Rules of Lifting for Women is good.
