Hey All,
I've been attempting weight loss basically since i left school and over the last few years i get horrible pain in my calves from running, and slowly it became worse that i can't really walk on flat ground without getting this pain in my legs.
After a few doctors appointments, and a few miss diagnosis - been told that I've just got to work the muscle more, that I'm just unfit etc been told its compartment syndrome.... - I've officially been diagnosed wit Popliteal Artery Entrapment. Which essentially is where the muscle and the tendons behind the knee compress the popliteal artery and reduce blood flow to the calf muscles.
So essentially am trying to loose weight but my exercise is extremely restricted and my sports specialist would like me too loose approx. 20kg because he believes it will assist in recovery from this. Does anyone else on here have this as well, or does anyone have any advice on weight loss without exercise such as walking/running?
Any advice is greatly appreciated Thanks Guys

Hello,
I have the same condition and it has progressed to the point where I can't even walk without pain, let alone exercise. I had surgery to release my right leg last week but it's still too early to tell whether it's helped withe the calf pain. Did you ever get the problem cured? I hope you did!

I lost my first thirty pounds when I was completely sedentary. All it takes is stringent calorie watching.
It is easier to get a calorie burn from the big leg muscles but if you are limited in that department perhaps work the upper body. Swimming is good too.0
