Happy belated birthday! I always say (and do), "If you're gonna cheat, make it worth it!" Sounds like a worthy cause to me.
-
Holly, perhaps your goal was too ambitious considering you Canadians have Thanksgiving a month early  I kid, I kid! Still, even if you don't get to 290, are you going to be disappointed if you get to 295? You've got 2 weeks left in the month. You can look back at what might have been with frustration. *** OR ***…

Hey dward, a loss is a loss, man. I see you putting in the work, even with all that you are going through. That shows heart, plain and simple.
-
Taking full advantage of your new gym membership will help with this. Go get some!

^ This! My apologies for not being more clear. I really should have said "way too much processed sugar." The distinction is important.
-
Hi Elaine. I just checked out your diary entries for the past 30 or so days. Little to no exercise, very little water, way too much sugar. Before you begin to address those things, ask yourself two questions: 1. Do you love yourself? 2. Are you worth the effort to get back on track to where you want to go? Hopefully, the…

Russ, if you ever feel intimidated going to the gym, just throw on a hoodie. NO ONE messes with the Guy In The Hoodie. Oh, and for the ladies, not even the guy in the hoodie messes with the Woman In The Hoodie! :noway:

Holly - Congrats on handling those stairs like a BOSS! Brookie - Another satisfied closet-shopper! Nice work! Jess - Your road to beast-woman has begun. Get some! P1xy - Hooray for the shred and the "bounce"!
-
That is awesome! Thanks for doing the math, Dan. It's working.

I do small sets of chin-ups and push-ups throughout the day, including in my office. My office-mate is cool with it, and is used to seeing me randomly get up from my desk to drop and do a set of 10 or so. However, today I convinced him to do some sets with me! Help keep the blood flowing and all. Was good stuff!
-
In addition to the squat, I would recommend taking a look at the sumo deadlift.
-
Mental game LEVEL-UP! What are you using for comparison when you say your weight loss is going slowly?

Big fan of Invincible by MGK. Gets me moving at 0500. Also, second for B.o.B.

Don't quit. Run your race on the sidewalk if you have to. Walk when you can't run. Just finish what you have signed up and trained for, and use it as a stepping stone for next time. Don't quit.

Since I used a code from here, here's my US code: LGD76257P

A loss is a loss, and you are moving in the right direction! 10 pounds in 23 days should be doable if you hit your workouts hard, stay strict with your diet, and get enough water and rest to facilitate the whole darn thing. Whether or not you achieve your expected result, everything you do towards it is a win, and every…

I'm seeing some great starts to the month so far. Let's keep it moving, y'all!

Count me in for some mod duty too. Life is very busy right now, but it's busy for all of us. I'll do as much as I can, and I'll let you know if I can't.

Great victories, y'all!

One of my favorites: meatloaf made with quick oats and food-processed carrots for filler instead of bread. Protein, beta-carotene, fiber, deliciousness. Also, if ever there was a kid-friendly food, it is meatloaf. Actually, I don't know if you have it, but Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld's wife) wrote a cookbook which has…

Closet shopping is awesome, Pidge! You can't beat the bargains!

Great NSV, Malia! Also, insanely jealous of relative proximity to waterfalls!

I don't think you'll have to wait too long. In fact, at this rate, you may have to put the brakes on around March so as not to overshoot your long-term goal
