Every day is a training day. I tell myself this every morning when I wake up. It serves to hold me accountable for the lifestyle of bettering myself that I am embracing. Fitness is only one aspect of that lifestyle. Looking back at my successes and struggles over the years, I realize that the times when I have not heeded…

Quoted For Truth. New Balance make great shoes for wide feet. I wear a size 14 2E, and I can always find a pair of New Balance to keep me moving. Can't say the same for Nike, Reebok, Adidas, etc.

Challenge accepted. I usually train 6 days per week (3 strength, 3 conditioning). From now on, every day is a training day. I won't be going at the same intensity level as the rest of the week, but every day is a training day. Thanks Mark!

This is copied verbatim from my profile for "Why I want to get in shape" In addition, I really want to ditch the annoying sense of humor and excellent comedic timing that I've used to compensate for being overweight my whole life. I'd much prefer to be serious and dour all the time.

I feel the same way, Demarii. My final weigh-in for August will be on the morning of Sep. 1 too. I know you'll get it and then some!

Everyone - great rewards! I love that they're all about celebrating our fitness successes by taking on new fitness challenges. Just reporting in: challenge accepted and accomplished! My 3-year-old had a ball chasing after, wrestling with, swinging on, and generally beating up his dad, and my 1-year-old thoroughly enjoyed…

My wife remarked to me yesterday that I was going to have "pants on the ground" if I kept wearing the size pants that I was wearing any longer. This prompted me to try on some old pants that are a size down which had not fit for quite some time. This morning, they fit quite comfortably, maybe even a little baggy. I feel…

Great challenge, Mark! I've got my travel scale packed, and my exercise regimen planned out, but I will have to work to figure out a solid meal plan for the long weekend. I am a big-time spontaneous eater, and even though there will be food all around me (going to the beach), I've got two things going in my favor: (1) I…

Check out the Let's Lose 100+ group, located here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/15651-let-s-lose-100. Great group of supportive folks!

^^ See, now that there is what I would call a LEVEL UP. I'm still trying to figure out the predictive modeling/analysis game myself. Care to share with the rest of the class?

Thanks for the kudos, y'all. I know this has helped me immensely, and I hope that it can help someone else too. Unfortunately, the data columns are hidden in the original post. :grumble: If you right-click on the pic and download or open in a new window/tab, you can see the numbers upon which the chart is based. These are…

Great idea, m23! I will definitely have to take the kids to one of the local playgrounds today. Not nearly enough time spent getting used as a jungle gym by my boys!
-
@holly - Echo what m23 said. It's not a failure, just a different result from what you expected. Learn from what went right and what went wrong, and improve from there. @CC, @bird, et al., - Great guzzling, y'all! 8/26 - 18 cups 8/27 - 16 cups 8/28 - 21 cups

Actually, that sounds a lot like a Paleolithic diet...

Heavy things lifted today: - Press (142.5 lb) - Assisted Chin-ups (me minus ~65 lb) - Sumo Deadlift (315 lb)
-
Dude, SPOILER ALERT!!! :grumble:

I sincerely hope not, m23. There will always be folks with 100+ pounds that they want to lose, and it would be a shame if the "vets", with all of their accumulated knowledge and team spirit, left the group after they lost their weight. Who's going to watch out for the newbs?

Awesome job overshooting your goal!

Great news, and congratulations! Keep it up!
-
CC - That is awesome!

Is it too late to get in on this? This one should be a piece of cake (only on free day). 8/26 - 18 cups 8/27 - 16 cups
