1430 was the number mfp gave me when I increased the activity level from sedentary to lightly active. With my tdee, and working out 5 days a week, various tdee calculators give me 2282. The discrepancy is in whether or not I should use the calculators saying moderate exercise, because I work out every weekday, or…

Out-eating? I'm currently set up to be at a 500 calorie deficit every day. I only eat back calories from exercising I need to in order to reach the daily net, and even then I don't always do that depending on if I'm hungry or not. Sorry - didn't quote properly.

The elliptical is great for knee issues, since it is very low impact. Calorie burn is good, and make sure to move your arms with the vertical grasps since it will help to burn extra calories.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll do some weight training and smaller exercises today, picking up with the leg workouts on Monday. I do think I need to learn to stretch better though, I usually just kind of, half-attempt them.

I'm in a similar boat. I'd recommend just calling up for a consultation with a doctor to see what other options might be available to her. It's pretty dependent on each individual body, so it's kind of just a trial and error unfortunately

I've never done the lemon, but sometimes I do a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses in coffee or water in the morning, for extra calcium and iron.

It helps if your room isn't too cold when you're waking up. For me, when the room is cold and I'm trying to get out of bed, it just makes it almost impossible. I just want to sink back into the covers and go back to sleep.

Brushing your teeth before and after dinner is a great suggestion ^ I also just drink a ton of water when I'm feeling hungry. I figure that many times I feel hungry it's probable I'm actually thirsty.
