Have it on front street! Your child is part of who you are. You having a child shouldn't be something you need to reveal. Talk about your child when you meet people just as a conversation element. Don't talk about him/her too much, just enough for people to know what he/she is an aspect of your life and that you're not…

I have a routine but I do like to change things every now and then. My breakfasts will be one of two different meals. Lunch is almost always a lean meat with steamed vegetables. Dinner is the variable as I have that with my wife and I can't expect her to eat the same thing every day.

I like hummus with any sort of red meat or chicken.

I drink a can of diet soft drink every time someone claims Aspartame is poison. SO YOU IN HELLLLLLLL!

Can we put the pitch forks away, guys? Don't drop to 950 calories. We're all calorie counters here and sometimes it's too easy for us to oversimplify the "calories in, calories out" idea. If having a calorie deficit makes us lose weight then the bigger the deficit the more weight we lose per week, right? Well sure but the…

I listen to podcasts while I exercise. I take out my ear buds when I deadlift and do overhead press. Some times I'll take them out for squats if I want to concentrate.

Give it a try but just watch out for instructors that push people to injury. There tends to be a culture in Crossfit that training until you hurt yourself is cool and a badge of honour.

Clean eating has its merits but a lot of people turn it into a religion. If you are really good at calorie/macro counting then you can have what you want as long as you manage your calorie intake.
-
Anecdotal: I've been on a calorie deficit and I've put on muscle. But I'm probably an alien.

I'm not saying drinking is evil or bad but it's just another thing that gets in the way of losing and keeping off weight. Everyone has trouble with weekends at some point. You really need to focus on weekends because they're the weakest link.

It's not that I've given any of them up, I just rarely want to take the calorie hit for them. I do eat potato 4-5 times a week but I have a specific quantity. I have two slices of bread with my breakfast every day. In order to have pasta I have to have such a small amount so as not to go over my daily calorie limit that…

When I had a long commute to work I'd sleep 5 hours a night because I was trying to cram work, quality time, exercise and sleep into 24 hours. Since I work from home now I have more time to fit it all in.

It took me 6 months but I was a scardy cat.

I weigh myself every morning before food and exercise and after number #1 and record it in MFP. I count Monday morning's weight as my official 'check in'. I used to weigh myself every day and only check in my weight in MFP if it was a new low or it had been a week since a new low.

+1 This thread is yet another way to delay getting started. Do c25k Do Stronglifts 5x5 Google "beginner exercise programmes" and pick one. Just Do It (tm)

I doesn't matter whether or not you agree with the paleo diet. Just let the paleo people talk. It's not like they're hurting anyone or themselves.

You know most of the time people are either impressed or they are curious about my weight loss plan. My mum is the only person that has a hard time with. It's not that she thinks I'm fussy, she just can't seem to accept that I won't eat certain things or that I want things a certain way. My wife and I have dinner at mum's…

Just add up the ingredients you make it with and divide by the number of servings?

I tranisitioned from using a treadmill to running outdoors a few years ago and now I hate using a treadmill. It's too boring on the treadmill and you never get the sense for how far into it you are. Sure there's numbers on the panel but that doesn't give me the same sense as passing landmarks does. It is a little harder…

My two staples: 1. 6 scrambled eggs (only two yolks) with two slices of bread with margarine and 100g of baked beans. 2. Oats with milk, honey, sultanas and occasionally some muesli.
