Go Thai instead :)

Working out actually makes me feel "more" energized; not less. Are you eating the additional calories that your exercise allows you above your base allowance?

Started out in Jan on the last notch of my belt - I am now on the first notch of the same belt - that's five on the other side of the keeper :)

Polar FT7 here - and I consider it quite accurate. Just remember to update your stats if you lose - been caught on that once or twice. It can only work with what you give it - bad input = bad output LOL

Shoulders here :) Still got a bit of paunch - it'll be the last to go for sure grrrr

I'm a Kinect fan and do Pilates now and then that is available in the Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout. I reckon it's a Torturous form of Yoga LOL But it's easy to see why it gets results. Even after months of circuit training, boxfit and what not - 1 Pilates session can still push the limits.

Welcome & fantastic start. Great losses are not uncommon off the starting block - big losses are often had by those that have had a high/ish sodium intake and reign that in. The other theory is it is just such a shock to the system. Just don't get discouraged if it slows a bit a few weeks or month in, once your body gets…

Is the 4 water proof/resistant? I have a feeling that might be another difference - but as general consensus here I don't know of anyone that has either and has been unhappy. I have the 7 & it's been brilliant.

Some try Zig Zagging. I thankfully haven't really suffered it badly - copped a few weeks but that's all and found that I do better when i stick to the quota - not too far under it and if over then only just say no more than 50. Here is a quite indepth post based on an article by Tom Venuto, if it helps =>…

I have bought both since starting my lifestyle change late January. If you do a bit of looking around you will see a lot of support for Polar HRMs particularly FT7 & FT4. I have a FT7 and love it - you use it as directed and you will not have a hassle with them. Not sure on avail of the scales I decided on outside Aus but…

@stbxadict yup - well superman LOL But yeh - I've done some damage a few times before waking up to the signs & signals that's it not too bright. Just ends up forcing you to have more downtime in the long run.

Mine goes off pretty much straight away - I figure even if there's some slack there it will probably be soaked up by the odd miscalc in food portion size or inaccurate DB entry etc.

Another PS For anyone interested in the dynamics of the site in relation to weight loss - ie. why MFP does what it does and how - this post is a pretty good all-rounder. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/225765-how-mfp-works?hl=how+mfp+works&page=1#posts-2976434

From the tools page => Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is an estimate of how many calories you'd burn if you were to do nothing but rest for 24 hours. It represents the minimum amount of energy needed to keep your body functioning, including breathing and keeping your heart beating. Your BMR does not include the calories…

Yep really try to find something you find fun - you're much more likely to keep at it then. If you have the spare $ I have found XBox Kinect to be awesome. I am really very busy but I manage to find at least 1/2hr to 45 mins a day for it since I "enjoy" it.

Perth here - and heaps of Aussies around. Almost all my pals are. Feel free to add if you like just be aware we can be a bit of an odd bunch LOL

At work - noone in particular so that's a real boon :) And for the work MT (Morning Teas aka Mass Temptations) they surprised me big time when they included a fruit platter with the last one - big leap there. In house has had ups and downs but wow our household has come along way. The rest of my family seeing the change in…

@elliecolorado - yup Personally I think Bollocks! I often - in fact - very often have a hot chocolate / Milo & something small within the hour before bed at 11pm and it hasn't seemed to have done me any harm yet. I have actually seen a post or article too debunking the theory but unfortunately I don't think I saved it so…

"I only log cleaning and housework type of stuff if it is above and beyone what I do in a normal day or week" <= yup that's me too. For example I've logged constructing a garden shed and other out of the ordinary things.

This might help for - the goal deficit question http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/61706-guide-to-calorie-deficits?hl=guide+to+calorie+deficit & this might help to decide on goal ideal weight: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

Touche & you know what if you haven't already you will also come across those that will actively discourage or sabotage your journey - so it must be for you & stick to your resolve. Good luck you have made a boundless step. :)

I doubt it's FT4 in general - they just get too many good reviews to be a dodgy product although I guess an occasional lemon is always possible. Are you taking normal care of the chest strap. ie. only attach transmitter during workouts - it saves the battery rinse after each workout - maybe taking care to avoid nibs as…

Except the running YES! They put on Morning Tea at work yesterday using an acronym in email of MT - I saw that and just thought - "M"*kitten* "T"emptation - no thanks. To their credit though they had a fruit platter in amongst all the crud. Why else - I must be nuts - I'm addicted to Kinect Sports. Smashed a light, tried…

I don't really know for sure what it is that has slowed me down. My wife can't drink much anymore due to Crohns - so that actually helps. When those around you don't drink I think you just tend not to as much yourself. But still love a glass or two - not very often I hit a whole bottle. And since I've gone from having 2 or…

Good read - thx

Close family not in the house are over 5000 klm away, so overabundance should not be a problem. Of 4 of us in the house, 3 are MFPers so gluttony should not be a problem :) We all talked about it and decided if we are going to have a treat it's going to count. So we are going for top notch premium stuff but only 1 modest…
