If the celebration is at my house, I make sure that I make plenty of healthy lower calorie options to eat to go along with the regular foods typical to the holiday time. If it's not at my house, I say that I'll bring a couple dishes along, which the host is always fine with, and I stick with those, having already figured…

About a week ago I had one and noticed the same thing! It had a tanginess to it. It was a new flavor that I never tried before so I took a few bites thinking maybe it was supposed to taste like that. Then a quarter of the way into it I couldn't stand the spiciness anymore so I threw it away. Good thing I did!

My father was on the line of being obese and lost 30 pounds setting him in the mid-overweight category and he's been told that he should stop losing weight since he's looking too thin. He bites his tongue so he doesn't respond "Shut up, I'm still considered overweight!"

Hahaha a little less sexual but still funny: Cookietown, Oklahoma

Good for you for beginning a circuit training program! I don't have much expertise in that to tell you whether or not you should stop, but I do P90X and have figured out some things that help my muscle soreness after a hard workout. 1) Epsom Salt Bath. There have been mixed studies on this but it always has helped me. And…

Yeah it can be a little bothersome, but I don't mind it all that much. I'd rather there be ads than a fee, since if there were a fee I'd deactivate my account in a heartbeat. I'm used to the ads since honestly any website you go on these days has them- Facebook, twitter, youtube- you name it- they all have ridiculous ads!…

Thanks for sharing. Still not sure what to think of aspartame due to all the mixed studies. I try to avoid it as much as I can but if I consume it once every now and then I'm no going to fret. Edited to add: My motto is H2O is the way to go!!

The problem with cheat days and I is that I cheat way to much and end up wrecking all my progress. When I first started dieting, I would eat at a deficit all week, and then come Saturday I'd stop counting calories and just eat whatever. But I ended up making my deficit so small for the whole week because of that, that…

If you eat sandwiches, spreading avocado or mayo into them helps give you a boost in calories. Adding flax meal to foods adds some calories and gives you healthy fats. If you eat multiple snacks, you won't feel as stuffed getting all the calories into your day that you need. Anything that you used to eat like milk and…

Right! I'm definitely going to buy some watermelon when I go out to buy groceries this afternoon and maybe I'll even serve it at our labor day dinner tonight!

Thanks! I edited my original post with the recipe link!

Haha exactly! There are SO many web pages and books of tips of things saying never to do this and that you have to do that to lose weight. No, not really!! I lost weight before on a diet consisting 50% of junk food. Yeah, that wasn't healthy for me, but in terms of weight loss, the pounds still came rolling off since I was…

I hate it when people do that to me! Especially when you're swimming and are about to come up for air!

The best bet to see where a healthy weight for you would be not by BMI, but by looking at your growth charts. You can call up your doctor and he/she can print this out and get it to you without even scheduling an appointment. There's a graph plotted with your weights all as you're growing up and it'll show you about where…

As I read a book for my college lit class about a teenage boy dying of Cancer, I've realized that that hits the top of my list. I am so afraid of contracting cancer. To anybody on here that has it or knows someone who is fighting it, god bless you. You all are amazing. Also getting ALS is a big fear of mine.…

Aww the poor thing! :(

Yeah; it could probably even work in the opposite way since muscular girls that have beautiful shape and don't look overweight at all might just meet the overweight BMI. I think it's a good idea "against the war of eating disorders" but they're just going about it wrong.

Anyone afraid of airplanes? I hate them! Not sure if that's my *biggest* fear but still I'd rather drive 2 days straight than take a plane!

The muscle thing depends I guess. Like someone said she'd normally lifted weights and not doing so for 60 days harmed her. However, for me, I'd never done much lifting before Insanity so I noticed a difference in how muscular I was! Before Insanity I just did push-ups and sit-ups on my own but nothing vigorous. After the…

Haha no that's okay! That's a very legitimate fear; I couldn't even begin to imagine how terrible that must be :frown:

Haha aren't those like english muffins kind of? What's the story with those? Are you deathly allergic to an ingredient in them or something? Or just totally kidding? I can never tell when you guys are being sarcastic

Holy crap, I totally forgot that some bats do that!! I've seen them fly outside at night sometimes and never even thought to take cover.

8 per year means you're going to have swallowed somewhere near 800 spiders by the end of your life... and that we've all swallowed at least 144 spiders already in our lifetimes. Excuse me while I go gag myself.

It just seems silly to use a bar to get all of your fiber when you could get plenty from fruits and vegetables. Glad you agree with me there. :) And I have a really sensitive stomach so I've found when I exceed 30 grams of fiber, for whatever reason, it has an adverse effect on me.
