  • Hey! Feel free to add me! :) Have been cutting the last couple months but about to start a lean bulk to build more muscle again. Hard to find many people on this site who actually take lifting seriously and aren’t just looking to lose weight, would love to be friends
  • Hey! My profile says Alabama for some reason but I’m a senior Exercise Science & bio major at a college in NC! Have been using mfp for a while but only have a few friends on here & they’re not super supportive so I’m also looking to grow my support base and interact more with others to help them with their…
  • Hey!:) Just to kind of echo everyone else, it completely depends. I used to struggle with anorexia and lost a ton of weight. I didn't fit into a 00 until I hit 93 lbs at 5'6 and my body was practically shutting down from being so underweight at that point. That's definitely not to say a 00 can't be healthy for someone…
  • Swimming most definitely! Cycling can be low impact on your joints, but as you push the pedals you'll be flexing your foot which probably will trigger the achilles. If your gym has an UBE (upper body ergometer/arm bike), you could try that! Gets your heart pumping but you're using your upper extremities instead of lower.…
  • kissing a phoenix really isn't my thing tbh :p
  • Hey y'all! I've had a MFP account for a while now but am finally starting to use it regularly and really would love some friends for more motivation. I promise to be a good and supportive friend in return haha! I'm a 19 year old college student just looking to lose like 15 lbs. I want to lower my body fat percentage and…
  • Hey, annet! I'm Bree. I'm not overweight either but wanna lose like 10-15 lbs or at least just lower my body fat percentage. I've been doing a lot of strength training and am getting strong which is exciting, but until I lower my body fat percentage it's hard to actually see my muscle gains. I'd love to support you on your…
  • Hey! Always looking for new supportive friends and it's really cool that you're into sharing healthy recipes. Feel free to add me!
  • Chain salons totally depend on who you get. After going a few times you get the idea of who's fresh out of cosmetology school, and who has had years of experience and knows their stuff. I think you could probably looks up reviews of even the chains online and see what people have to say about each hairdresser. I was scared…
  • I don't color my hair or anything. I usually just get it trimmed, sometimes layered a bit, so my trips to the hair salon are very easy. I used to go to a chain and get a $15 trim. I recently found a local place that does a wash, cut, and dry for $13 and the lady that works there is really experienced, unlike the chains…
  • I think you told me, but so everyone else knows who tries to help ya out, can you tell us how fit you are now? Like how in shape you are, if you already workout out often, if you're used to vigorous workouts? Insanity and Focus T25 are my favorites since they work your whole body and are a lot more strength oriented than…
  • I experienced that in recovery from anorexia. Once I got to a healthy weight and my body was functioning regularly again with all the nutrients I need and stuff my binges have been less frequent. They still happen, but much less than recovery, when my body was craving all the nutrients and tastes I'd deprived it from so…
  • I think I go over my calorie goal more than I stay under it... So the answer to your question, nope. Never ever have I done such a thing. What do I do? I take a chill pill. Sure it's not as huge of a deficit, but as long as I'm eating below maintenance, I have no concerns. Weight loss isn't a race and if I…
  • See, the problem is, I can't think of anything. :frown: I'm way too judgmental of myself and only ever think of the flaws, not the great things. I guess I could say I love how bubbly I am, and how I never let my negative mood show. But in terms of anything physical I love about myself... I got nothing
  • Hey girl! I suffered from anorexia a couple years ago and was about 95 pounds at my lowest. I was seeing a dietitian and theapist and they had my growth charts from the doctor to see how much I should weigh at my age based on a curve specific to me. The number that the charts showed was 122 pounds. I was stubborn and told…
  • I lost 50 pounds without ever using a food scale. I figured out how high to fill my cereal bowl with a serving of my favorite cereal, and things i wasn't familiar with I used my tablespoons and measuring cups for. I still lost weight without a problem. At the time I was eating [what I thought was] 1200 calories, so if the…
  • Hannaford! Because it's the only grocery store in my town, and I love the people and store brand products they have. I like the store brand of just about everything at Hannaford better than a real brand. I eat Hannaford cereal, yogurt, oatmeal etc. not because it's cheaper but because it tastes better! Hannaford also has a…
  • Hahaha! And brunettes with blue eyes are cute, but I think blondes are pretty great, too. But I agree with everyone else that mentions how much more important personality is than looks.
  • Thanks so much for your input, guys! Anyone else?
  • That's great! Good for you. I'm writing a paper on Western eating habits, so I just wanted to hear what people have to say on this topic. I, for one, end up eating when I'm bored. Even if I'm not hungry, if I have nothing else to do I find myself putting food in my mouth. It's a terrible habit that I'm working on breaking.
  • I have a cook book that was really cheap I got on Amazon and I love it! It's vegetarian; it's called- Vegetarian Times Low-Fat and Fast
  • If I look in the mirror and I see a thin person, I think it's okay to go over my daily calories and eat at maintenance because I look fine. But then the next day when I realize I still don't fit in my jeans I get mad at myself. So then the next time I look in the mirror, I tell myself that I look fat. Not that I do, and I…
  • Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with dairy? I eat a couple greek yogurts daily as snacks and to get more protein since I'm GF and vegetarian.
  • Yeah, a teaspoon is 6 calories. A tablespoon would be close to 20, maybe that's what she was thinking. Packets of Splenda or Truvia etc. also have ~5 calories each I believe. And some mustard is labeled 0 calories, but if you cover your hot dog in mustard thinking it's 0 calories, it might be closer to 20 or 30 calories,…
  • Same here! I was thinking of what I was going to do for Lent, and I decided I want to give up junk and binging! We can do it together! =D
  • Each mento is 10 calories... so a roll of 14 is 140 calories. 140 all day long is ridiculously low; you need to eat more than that! Don't feel bad at all about that...:flowerforyou: Candy every once in a while is fine, and mentos are mints more so than candy.
  • You're welcome! Yeah, reading the stories of others and the path of their recovery was really inspirational; I wanted to share with you all and am glad you'll be sharing it, too.
  • I say dance your heart out! It might be a bit more difficult than you remember just because you're a bit heavier now, but honestly it shouldn't be a huge difference! I gained 35 lbs before and dancing never felt any different to me. (I'm a dancer) If it makes you feel better, my aunt dances and this is a picture of her tap…
  • I'm only on my second week, but I love it so far! It's just really kind of fun! I know that sounds lame but certain workouts I've dreaded in the past- not T25! The moves you do are fun and it's never too repetitive. Shaun T is the man in general; he's a great instructor and pumps you up. I don't have much weight to lose…
  • I've tried something like this before with mini rice cakes and it was delicious. You get the same crunch you'd get as if you had it with a graham cracker, And the mini rice cakes are lower cal than graham crackers. I used chocolate mini rice cakes with cool whip before and that was great!
