Binge Free (Lent)

Hi friends! I am working on NOT binging starting tomorrow and going for 40 days. This will be SO tough, especially emotionally and even physically! Is anyone in?

I'm in. I'm giving up desserts, which I am hoping will help to curb my desire to binge if I am not eating processed sugar at night.

Same here! I was thinking of what I was going to do for Lent, and I decided I want to give up junk and binging! We can do it together! =D

This is the greatest idea ever!!

I am in for sure :)
  • I am right here with you! 40 Days will feel good!
I think it is important to make SPECIFIC goals...for me they are statements such as "I will not eat in the car on the way home unless it is a snack I brought."
I also started a journal to write in each day....my eating is based of emotions so I need to keep those in check.
I also made a list of things to DO if I feel like eating so I can turn to that.
    Good luck everyone!

Be careful, because that black and white mentality feeds into binge eating. I've never heard of somenbody struggling with it 'giving it up overnight', but I have experienced (and heard of) that exact mentality feeding into binge eating.

Why don't you instead make it your lent goal to gradually work on your binging? The whole point of lent is not to see 'who can give up the most', but instead it's about personal sacrifice, which ranges from person to person.

Best of luck! :) I've given up things for lent before (when I was incredibly religious), and I know the struggle! I'd like to think it's worth it though. Take care!!

I did something like this when I was involved in my local church's youth group when I was a teen...

Needless to say I caved and played a video game two days later
