I'm 43, lost 30lbs and have been maintaining for 10 months. I don't use protein shakes either, partly for the same reason as you and partly because they look too much like milk which I hate. Stupid I know because it's psychological (I've never even tasted them) but I'd rather not bother than try and eat something that…

I started because I was fed up spending hours in the gym and getting nowhere. My PT told me to sign up here so he could track what I was eating while changing my training. My weight loss was never the main goal but has been a happy side effect.

Don't you believe it, I'm 43 and started this journey at 42. With the right exercise you can easily get the body of a 25 year old.

My workout sounds similar to yours, I normally only have a banana and that gets me through fine. I don't think I could eat anything heavier personally. Nothing to do with how energy is burnt, purely down to how I feel. Do what colours_fade suggests, see what works for you.

I had a conversation with a girl at my gym about how much weight she'd put on and was desperate to lose it. Then asked the instructor which classes she could do that would help her lose weight but she didn't like to sweat - at all. :ohwell:

Congratulations on your weight loss. I've been really lucky and my family and friends have been nothing but supportive. Colleagues however, are another story. In general it's the backhanded compliments like "You look great - but you don't need to lose any more weight" or "You'll blow away in a strong wind" and they all…
