  • at 300+ lbs, and a former cardioholic..i say lifting>cardio anyday. I have seen people literally look like someone else in a little over a year by losing weight doing nothing but lifting and eating at a deficit. one woman in particular on my FL lost 120 lbs, and maybe did cardio once a week. She doesn't even look lik eshe…
  • Same! At 6'1" i look about 40-50 lbs lighter than I really am(and im much heavier than you haha) I told a coworker recently of my weight loss goals and how much i weighed..she staired at me in disbelief. Most people i mention my weight too say I don't look that big. I guess if i were a few inches shorter though I may look…
  • One of he best transformations I have seen since joining. you KILLED it. Congrats all around to you. :) :flowerforyou: :drinker:
  • I have an Eat Smart digital scale and the instructions state that if you move it from one place to the next, you have to step on and step right off to "reset" the scale. then proceed to step on to weigh. i weigh in the same spot, no matter what. our apartment is a bit off as well. ive notticed a 7 lbs difference between…
  • Again, it depends on the person. if you have 100 lbs to lose you could easily do that. If you have 20-30 not so much and it seems aggressive. Focus on Quality of your health, What you ae eating, just being healthier period. Do it the healthy way!
  • Take some time and read the forums. They are full of great information. a lb is nothing honestly. Ive put 6 lbs in a week and lost 8 the next week. Water weight, food intake, salt, etc all plays a roll. Worry less about the scale and more about the quality of your health.
  • I've got some friends on my FL that averaged 10 lbs a month over the course of a year. Lost well over 100 lbs. it's doable for sure. Although i think more so for people who have a significant amount to lose in the first place. i think any loss is a positive though..wehether 8 months or 2 years. Treating your body right is…
  • ^ agreed with Kesp. If you are staying strict to 1500 and still working out, i would eat your calories back. If you eat 1500 Today and go and burn 500, you are only netting 1000 calories. If you burn 1000 calories, you are only netting 500 cals. IMO That seems really low. i would stick to the 1500 if it works for you and…
  • I've been having a pretty terrible week emotionally..our new rescue has been climbing up in my lap, purring nuzzling me etc. normally she ignores me unless she wants food. I think they defin can. And they have emotions too. Have you seen those videos of dogs getting excited when their owners come back from deployment?!…
  • I was with someone for 7 1/2 years. the last 3 years he decided he wasn't ready for marriage or kids. I kept trying to hang on in hopes hed change his mind, because i KNEW i wanted children. I loved him and wanted to stay with him. Eventualy everything fell to pieces because i was not happy, and i was frustrated. My honest…
  • "it's Lose not Loose" -(it's not that kinda website!)
  • 120 cals left and you have not eaten dinner yet? How many calories are you consuming for breakfast and lunch? id try to adjust that so you are getting a healthy dose of calories at each meal.
  • Originally my goal weight was between 150-175. I know of at least 2 people who are tall and look damn good at 150. however, every "body"is different. 150 on one person might look good but on another it could look unhealthy. I am shooting for 180 and then going to go from there. but generally the 170-185 range is in my…
  • :flowerforyou: 6'1" here started at 306, down 7 lbs to 298 in 1 month. I stay to a 1700 calorie diet, low carb ( <160g) and high protein (>200g) . I always nejoy seeing the progress of taller women as well. Good luck to all of you. Don't give up on yourselves!

  • I am 6'1". my highest weight was 328 lbs. My current weight is 302. and my GW would be in the 180 range. When i first started, MFP suggested a 2000 calorie diet to lose 2-2.5 lbs a week. After a month I was maintaining, so i manually dropped my own to 1700. i weigh in on Saturday to see how th elast 2 weeks have been…
  • I am over 100 lbs overweight. When I do weights, I sweat, i pant, I BURN. And whether they are "completely accurate' or not, i only care to see that I am doing what i am supposed to be doing, Getting my heart rate up (which i do) and doing the best I can through each set. being significantly overweight, im going to burn a…
  • Depends on person and intensity. I wear a HRM always. And On days i do arms/back/shoulders etc i burn anywhere from 5-600 calories, that includes a 5 min warm up run on the treadmill. Leg days Im between 4-500 cals. I alway spush myself. Im also a woman, so I guess it would be different either way.
  • You are Gorgeous!!! :) Congrats!
  • suggestion: Start toning now. STrength Training/Weight Lifting. There are numerous success tories of women who have lost over 100 lbs doing 3-4 days of ST/WL and 1-2 days of Cardio. And looking a tthem, you wouldn't even guess they ever carried that much weight on them. I lift 4-5 days a week and do cardio ONCE. Ive lost 3…
